There was a neat story few years back.. a guy shared his life story and answered questions (guy born with like a dozen of body deformities). Anyway, one of the questions was "are you depressed" and he perfectly explained that depression is the stupidest and most pointless thing ever.

Giving what advice? Explaining that feeling like shit after a breakup is a normal occurance? And to going through it is also normal. And by going through it it will make you stronger and if it happens in the future have better coping mechanisms.

Question yourself if you have depression. Get depression into your head. See doctors. Most likely receive medication. Be examined with the pre thought in your head you have a serious problem. Yes great advice idiot!

When the shit hits the fan you have to clean all of the shit splatter from the walls and ceiling. Plus you have to have to take apart the fan and clean it or toss it and get a new fan. It's not a magic formula, it's called LIVING. He wasn't depressed last month, he wasn't depressed last year, he doesn't have a life of depression. He has an issue right now that caused him to be depressed, and you think the answer is in a pill?

It's NORMAL to be depressed when you are breaking up with someone after 10 years. Even normal to feel like you just can't even deal with the possibility of going on without that person.

What's NOT normal is turning to a drug which changes the chemical makeup of your brain to DULL your feelings.

What IS normal is talking about your feelings with real people, being around friends, family, crying, feeling alone, feeling desperate, and in extreme situations feeling like you just want to die, but not literally. Like in this guys case.

If he's still depressed in 6 months, then I'd say, well you may want to try some antidepressants to help you through. But fuck, this just happened. Let the man feel his emotions for a while. Antidepressants are not automatic. You don't pop a pill and you're happy. Stop being so ridiculous and calling people names.

After the dramatic time over 2 years ago I moved some other place and I restarted my life.
Business is getting better and better, though money brings me only peace, not much happiness. Being alone sucks. I’ve tried dating, met many girls, but I fail in finding the one I would like, (Well, there is someone, but she likes me back only as a friend. It’s ironic, cause surprisingly I’ve received more interest from girls than I could ever imagine.)
So I live on my own, trying to find happiness within myself.

Not going to try anything stupid again. But don’t judge me by what I did in the past, cause you don’t know how I felt.
