Let's take an honest and realistic look at this.

During the 1940s the United States rounded up in put people of Japanese descent into prison camps.

I read yesterday somewhere that during the Iranian hostage crisis President Carter blocked all travel of Iranians in and out of the country, so there is some recent precedent of something along these lines.

I'm not sure about the legalities of that Trumpster is trying to do, or talking about doing. We do need to protect our country, and we obviously need to stop radical Islamic terrorists from entering the country. Screening will never work - That will never be effective.

At the same time, how many times has the United States been attacked by terrorists from outside of the country? The gunman in San Bernardino was born in the United States, and seems to have planned this out before he met his wife. Closing down our borders would not have prevented this.

I don't think it's logical to shut down our borders to people of a certain religion; This goes against everything the United States stands for. We should be able to deny people from certain countries entry to the United States for any reason, but... Frankly that's pointless. Someone could grow up in Pakistan, move to Syria, then Germany, then France, and then come to the US... And we would never know it.

At the same time, we should not allow any US citizen to fly to Turkey and then to another country such as Syria. If anyone wants to go to such countries, they should have to sign up as part of a government group that goes over under proper supervision.
