I know you'd like to claim Russia has superior military forces to America's but that's not what those articles say at all. Any conventional war between the US and Russia would happen in Europe, where Russia would have a huge advantage because of logistics, the US being located an ocean away.

One of the articles says Russia is as toothless to attack a Western European country as the US is to attack Russia. It says that Russia's military is constituted to defend Russia's borders against attack and that America's is set up to defend itself from a nuclear attack, since absolutely no country on the planet could even think about getting their boots on American ground.

It took the US two full years to prepare to land forces at Normandy and attack what it knew were weakened Nazi forces. And when it dropped atomic bombs on Japan it did so for one reason, to attack and defeat Japan on its home turf would have cost an estimated 1 million American soldiers lives.

There are idiots who think the US with its massive military budget and might can just show up anywhere in the world and kick some ass, you can thank Hollywood for that. It's no embarrassment to the US that it can't, it's just reality.

A conventional war between Russia and the US fought in the Middle East would be a bloodbath for both sides.

The number of the US Spearhead forces (those that can be dropped anywhere in anytime): 10,000 + about 5,000 of airborne troops in the EU vs Russian airborne troops (VDV): 72,000 + 30,000 of Spetsnaz soldiers. So let's calculate it and we'll have 15,000 vs 100,000. That's a simple math. As about the budget, so Russia doesn't spend a cent to a salary of a regular soldier since he does his military service absolutely for free

As an addition to the previous post. NATO is only planning to increase its airborne up to 40,000. Still not enough, because it will be just a bit more than a half of Russian regular airborne forces (40,000 vs 72,000), and it's only 4/3 of Russian Spetsnaz forces (I would not compare Spetsnaz efficiency with regular NATO airborne though...)
