    Rant I fucking hate parallax design

    Parallax can look neat if done well and has some neat features but I've been split testing parallax with pages with traditional navigation and it simply sucks. Conversions are terrible, click maps are all over the place and since the bounce rates are higher it seems like users can rarely find what they're looking for and ultimately give up.

    I'm sure some are effective, but that might be because they're responsive and work better on mobile devices. If you make a regular page responsive I think that's better because the parallax features don't translate well on mobile anyway! In general I think designers push parallax because they think it's more fun to make, not because they're better or more effective in generating money.

    Agree? Disagree? Should I go fuck myself?

      Some guy on here had a robot design like that and he had it copied by someone - Thats all I remember.

      Rimmel London US looks good though - Replace the makeup with dildos etc...

              Last time I saw someone analyze jscript sliders at this level they smoked a few bowls and started thinking about life and existence

                  If you use page markers and a use of buttons to aid navigation between sections then those issues go away. On mobile having all the information on one easily navigable page not only looks awesome but results in click throughs further into the sales funnel.

                  Done right Parallax design can increase conversions (in mainstream at least - never tried with adult).

                      Done right is the phrase. I've seen more mainstream sites that have pooched paralax than adult, but considering I can't seem to spell paralax correct, maybe I move through the wrong circles
