However, Muslims have been killing each other before Mohammed was born. He was also good at waging war on other tribes. As soon as he died Muslims took sides and carried on killing each other.

Also correct. The neocons are responsible for much that is bad in the world.

The US has a good degree of culpability as well, choosing to attempt to destabilize Syria by partnering with Al Qaeda.

Syria was a stable, somewhat moderate country. It could easily be again.
