The problem is people promote what they think converts, and have problems getting sales (often because soooooo many are promoting the same sites).

That said, sometimes the way people promote sites is strange.

In short, yes! You can monetize on anything you want and make solid profit given a solid effort and patience is put into it. Typically you can see people split between "no profit made" to "solid profit made". Right tools, effort and patience are important factors to success and some give up too soon to see those profits
