is anyone making REAL MONEY as an affiliate?

Nope. we're an Affiliate Network.
TrafficNetworks / AdNetworks sell traffic. Think TrafficJunky
Affiliate Networks are basically an alternate to affiliate programs. Affiliate Networks have offers from multiple affiliate programs under 1 roof with special payouts. For example we have an offer that is $85 PPS but if you were to go direct with the sponsor they start at $55. So without any volume you can start at higher payouts through us rather than direct. Plus we also have a bunch of exclusive brands not found elsewhere. Our main focus is Adult Dating PPL offers.
Jay, remember how many dozens of programs you had to login into to check stats on jays-xxx-links. And what a pain it must have been to stay on top receiving payouts. Now imagine if you could promote all that under 1 roof and get 1 check. And only when you can get a better payout rate direct do you go direct. Much easier to test on an affiliate network first and when something works then see if it's worth going direct.Comment

I agree that it's good to build your own product but sometimes it's just easier to promote others people's stuff. It's not like anyone can just build an AdultFriendFinder or successfull BangBro's overnight and be guaranteed its converts / earns just as well.i'm sure there are but if i was an affiliate making that much i wouldn't stick to promoting someone elses program making them rich, i'd make my own program. how many years did it take these people to get the level of making 100k a month? perhaps im cynical but judging from sites out there these days you either have to deceive people, install things on their computer, do mailing etc to make that kind of money.
So if you're doing $100K month as an affiliate you're going to have to take a huge hit while you tweak your own product to profitability (if u ever do. the product could flop). Some people say fuck that I'll just keep sending as an affiliate. Less headache.Comment

That's quite impressive that there's still affiliates left doing six figures a month, definitely gives people hope. I agree that it looks like there's much less affiliates these days which means those who stick it out get a bigger piece of the pie if they play their cards right. I noticed paysite sales decline, but things like webcams are on the up and up. Now if only I could send my traffic to better converting sites.I know a dozen or so affiliates making 100k+ a month (profit) A few much more. There are obviously a lot more than that (plus TONS making a decent living but not at that level) thats just the ones I know / work with etc who's revenue I can confirm.
More money is being made now than ever before. Just in different ways, by a smaller number of people. In 97-2003 I knew a bunch of people making really good money with little effort (most were lucky, a few were smart and good at what they did) Times have changed and the the game has thinned out and left the best marketeers still around and doing well. I think a lot of the ones who saw their $$ dry up and just can't believe anyone is making money anymore are part of that group who were more luck than skill. The days of just being able to copy what you saw someone else do and being able to make that work are, for the most part, gone. There is a shit ton of $$$ being made by affiliates , but definitely LESS affiliates out there.
My experience and opinion anywayComment

It depends on your EXIT STRATEGY.
Other webmasters prefer creating sites that make around $250 a month and flip them quickly at Flippa for $2500 to $5000 and rinse and repeat
This used to be a hassle because it had to be done manually to avoid the spammy look of autoblog/autospam curation BS
Now, thanks to current generation content syndication and sniping tools like Sociocaster, it's easy to crank these out.
Kinda like baking hotcakes lol
So, is there money in affiliate marketing? Yes, it depends on your exit strategy.Comment

You can still do decent numbers ($500/day+) as an affiliate......... mainstream + mailing. I doubt you can in adult.

But how does the site go from $250 to 10x-20x that so it can be flipped? It depends on your EXIT STRATEGY.
