Embedded chat room recommendations?
So, the phone sex company I do work for has used AddonChat for years. It was a great, easy to use hosted chat software. But it's Java based, and now is essentially useless, as browsers are blocking it and the majority of people trying to access the chat are not able to.
AddonChat has released a new version, called X, to replace their classic Java based chat. But it's more like an instant messenger with the ability to add group chats as opposed to a chat room we can embed on a website. Since the majority of the company's calls are generated through leads in the chatroom, I'm frantically looking for a suitable replacement. I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions. Here's what is needed in a chat: * Able to embed in a webpage (wordpress based site) * Able to log into the chat in different browser tabs under different user names * Ability to create/upload custom avatars * Ability to monitor live chat logs - including PMs - for Admin/SuperAdmins Here's what I've tried so far: AddonChat X - not what we want ProChatrooms - Possible option; we've customized a version of this, but still had some issues with it (in order for an operator log in under multiple character names, she has to open multiple browsers w/InPrivate browsing, which is harder to keep track of that just tabs; a few other issues) RumbleTalk - Just didn't like it; seems to rely heavily on Twitter account logins, which is not something we want CometChat - In order to have avatars, users must log into their Wordpress account on the site, which creates the same problem as ProChatrooms, that they must use multiple InPrivate browsers as opposed to just multiple tabs). 123 Flash Chat - I actually like this and see it as a viable option (using the free trial version), especially since I can get it quickly set up using their hosted version. The downside: I purchased a license, and never received emails containing the account information for me to log into the account and actually set it up to match our needs. Tried calling their US sales/support line, but keep getting a "this person is not available to take your call message." Crossing my fingers that it could just be a time zone difference and the email will come in soon. So, just in case 123FlashChat doesn't work out (I'm planning for the worst), does anyone have any suggestions on good, hosted (ideally) chatroom software? Oh, and video capabilities aren't a requirement, but it is something the owner expressed interest in for the future.
