  4. Fast forward 4 years to 2013, and the US along with a few other countries started sending massive amounts of money, military equipment and training to the "Free Syrian Army".
  5. 1 year later, much of these resources were in the hands of ISIS.
  6. There were intelligence reports that US knew our resources would end up in the hands of ISIS, but we sent them anyways.

This allowed ISIS to become powerful, re-enter Iraq to claim territories and a lot of leftover US military equipment.

A more detailed account of the above information:

So when I get on social media and see so many espousing "#PrayforParis" hashtags, it's discouraging that so few of them truly realize that ISIS's rise to power was only made possible by the government they love so much.

US foreign policy is atrocious. So much of what we do, results in blowback. 9/11 and now Paris.

Pigshit.

we weren't.

We're not to blame, but if ISIS could have gotten to us they would have... in a NY minute.

They hate us the most.

The bad news here is that they may eventually find the means to do so.

The GFY russkies here are annoying to say the least.

But.. if Putin wants to spend the $$ and lives necessary to stomp out (or at least weaken) ISIS, I'm cool with that. After all, questioning the morals of whoever stomps on a cockroach seems rather, shall we say, non productive :)

Tom

Removing Saddam allowed less vicious rulers to gain control. Their in fighting led to the rise of more terrorists. The West's dislike of Assad has allowed ISIS to grow. Same goes for Gaddafi, look at how his removal ended up.

We need wake up to the fact in a pride of lions, the baddest rules.

It also helps they can't just walk here...

Rubbish, it's because the US has learned to retaliate with deadly force. This isn't about the Muslims who migrate to work and make a life for themselves. It's about brain dead ones who think god will make everything right. Led by people who want power and wealth.

Now tell us you don't have those freaks.

World Trade Centre, 9/11 with pilots were trained in the US, terrorists don't need to be in the US to target and kill Americans.

You sure don't see many tangos with m16s.. With out Russian weapons they would still be using bolt action rifles over there. The ex Soviet union countries have dumped weapons all over the globe but yea blame the U.S.

Agree. Not the guns owned by civilians. Those hicks are not a problem, unless they run into some determined street gangs or drug cartels.

The ones the military own scare them enough to keep the terrorists quiet.
