    Most Respected, Trusted and Interesting GFY'ers?

    If you took the last 10 years or so of GFY members and discounted banned members who would you consider to be the most respected, trusted and interesting GFY'ers?

    Imagine it on a scale of 1-10. 10 is most respected, trusted and interesting and 0 is basically shit (but not banned).

    Where would you and other members fit into this scale? For example:

    Captain Howdy
    Juicy D Links
    Teencat
    Eddy the Dog
    Harmon
    Brassmonkey
    BlackMonsters
    DVT
    CurrentlySober

    Etc etc.

    Obviously we need a starting figure so who would rate a 10 or close too? Who would be a zero or one?

          Well talking about myself it wold be pretty simple.

          Respected - 0 - I don't expect to be respected on GFY
          trustworthy - 10 - I've never deliberately given bad info or tried to screw anyone over - Thats simply not my nature...
          Interesting - 5 - Thats very a subjective term. I only give myself a 5 cause some people seem to find me amusing - But plenty of others don't and thats fine by me.

                      Seriously though, TS screwed up by not having Baddog on that list.

                      BD is a pillar of this online community. He may seem gruff and tough but he's an upstanding responsible and caring person. Case in point: dig up some old "gfyer needs help" threads and Lloyd is always one of the first to help.

                      Any community's real value boils down to that handful of people with HEART that make the community viable. The old 80/20 rule definitely applies to all communities, whether online or offline.

I will make a tiny exception to that, and say Mr. Shemp for both those.

Like in the dimensional world, it is just the bad ones that get the press.

                                                                                                                                                                                      I've done a lot of business with GFYers in the past, and to be honest, a lot of them fucked me over one way or another. With that, I learned a very valuable lesson: The person they ACT like they are on GFY, usually isn't who they are in real life. One "popular" poster once caused my receptionist to have a break down. He called her the most despicable names you could imagine calling a woman. And her only crime, she was the unfortunate one that answered the phone. Most long time GFYers know who he is, and if they've never done business with him offline, would never think he was an egotistical, maniacal, evil human being. They would respect him and say he's a stand up, well respected guy. No wonder his program folded like a cheap suit.

                                                                                                                                                                                      While I like some people here, it's hard for me to respect them for their online persona. I place a lot of reverence on respect, and without knowing the person, can't really give them any respect. I can appreciate them, which is much different.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      GFY serves a purpose in that regard. It reveals people more than they realize, as it certainly provides an insight into their level of maturity and professionalism, or lack thereof.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Frankly, I find the entire concept of having to create an online persona somewhat ridiculous and juvenile... but that's just me.
