I met a guy who always bought the scandal car. I am guessing he would be eyeing up a porsche cayenne or one of the diesel Audi's that is caught up in this scandal.
Time to buy a Volkswagen?

funny that some owners might panic sell, each owner might be getting a check. only mark princes, who stick their mouths in the exhaust & inhale, are mad about this. so let them get fleeced for being so naive to think their VW kills people, or the earth.

I won't buy a VW, back in 78 when I bought a new civic I first went to VW for one of the diesel units that they were selling back then. They didn't want to deal but did raise the sticker price by about 900 and said it was supply and demand. I told the sales dude, I would never pay more then the sticker because you have a demand, so I bought the Honda, less money, more MPG, more power, and got over 250k before I sold it.Comment

This is unbelievable, a car firm would create a device to change the output of a car, only when being tested. Are they going to be sued or taken to court for deception by the departments of transports? My official site / Custom vids / Make money links / First time girls

I can't imagine people would be dumb enough to get their cars fixed of this problem. They will get worse mpg once fixed.
There is nothing wrong with the cars ability to run.. It's just a regulation issues. Im betting there isn't much worse emissions when you add in the increased mpg.
Has anyone reported on the difference in the emissions output? In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

Yeah, my understanding is that some emissions are up to 40x worse than the regulation calls for. I don't think it was just a "small tweak". It was huge.
And, the fix that VW is offering will for sure affect power output (it will be lowered). There's no way it can't.AdultAdBroker - Buy and Sell Your Flat Rate Banners, Links, Tabs, Pops, Email Clicks and Members' Area Traffic - updated May 2026Comment

You understand that this is about NOx and not CO2 right? Not sure if you are a kid and not a fan of history but smog was a huge issue in the US at one point. Emission controls have solved that. Seems like just a bunch of nuts to those who are younger as you have had smog free lives for the most part.

"Though Los Angeles was one of the best known cities suffering from transportation smog for much of the 20th century, so much so that it was sometimes said that Los Angeles was a synonym for smog,[63] strict regulations by government agencies overseeing this problem, including tight restrictions on allowed emissions levels for all new cars sold in California and mandatory regular emission tests of older vehicles, resulted in significant improvements in air quality. For example, air concentrations of volatile organic compounds declined by a factor of 50 between 1962 and 2012.[64] Concentrations of air pollutants such as nitrous oxides and ozone declined by 70% to 80% over the same period of time."Comment
