I have paraphrased myself a little bit about the 4K cams.

the VR era is coming as probably some of you have noticed, the VR devices are coming to the market -Oculus Rift , Samsungs GearVR ,Googles Cardboard .. and many will follow next year.

there are actually some studios already shooting in VR format , but will this be the next trend in whole porn industry or just a some crazy stuff for tech freaks ?

Will this go the way of 3D porn?

No - I think this time it's here to stay.

There's a big difference between old 3D and the new technology coming out.

The old 3D relied on red/green glasses to help your eyes see which image was meant for your left eye, and which was meant for your right eye. It was blurry, didn't work, and fucked up the colors of course.

There were also polarized glasses that were ok, but again they produced a blurry image and gave people headaches.

Modern 3D like you see in IMAX use Shutter glasses - glasses made out of LCD material that open and close 12 or 24 times a second in sync with the movie projector, delivering only the image meant for your left or right eye. This works really well on movies that are shot with 2 cameras.

The new VR / 3D technology like Oculus is completely different. It delivers a constant, unique image to each eye. 2 Cameras placed on a special 3D rig capture a scene from a slightly different angle just as your left and right eyes do. Viewing it on an Oculus Rift reproduces those images exactly, giving you a near perfect 3D image.

Using multiple cameras for left-right up-down - rear right and rear left, gives a VR viewer 3D video AND true surround video, including the top and bottom.

The companies that will do really well in 3D Porn will use a multi-camera rig placed in the center of an orgy, and then stand-back and record the fun. Add some surround-sound audio recording and the Oculus Rift user will be in virtual heaven.

There are other reasons to shoot for 3D / VR too:

- Customers buying VR / 3D Gear will be hungry for content.
- Since they can already afford the gear, they can afford your content too.
- These videos will not translate very well to tube sites.
- A clever porn company might be able to encode their videos to play only on their VR players.

And if shooting porn with a multi-camera setup is too complicated, they can alway just stick to dual camera setups. Since gadgets like the Rift "know" where they are in 3D space, it is easy to create 3D Environments that react to the customer's head movements and body position.

I know those are on the way but I think we still have a good 10 to 15years before they are in everyones homes.

I predict 10 to 15 months.

When I was at Fan Expo (Canada's Comincon) in Toronto last September, all the big companies including Sony and Microsoft were all showing off Rift content for 3D Immersive games. It's a good bet that after killing some virtual bad guys, these gamers will want to fuck some virtual hotties next.

I think you will find that a VR headset makes a super great big screen for all 3D media playback.
Most of older 3D content including porn, will come back as there is not enough material when this gets started.

I can't see this going away. The big problem of the past was 3D TV's were junk. The true 3D stereoscopic viewers always worked pretty well. The cable Co's refused to invest in 3D after spending a few bucks upgrading to HDTV.

There is always a battle between having the hardware to encourage making of content.
Due to the multi-purpose of VR Goggles can have, they are coming no matter what.
Those that get ahead of the curve in content, can well dominate it if they don't do anything stupid.
