get both. problem solved lol

seriously though

if its a laptop, id say a mac. why? because it'll be much more like an accessory, like your purse or handbag.

if its a desktop, choose a pc, because its a tool.

Exactly.

When we were running studios, we used PC's. It was nothing but an endless supply of hardware problems, replacements, fans that wore out, noisy hard drives, shitty power supplies, endless wires, and let's not forget, the near daily anti-virus updates, and the monthly OS re-install because a chat girl somehow managed to screw the machine up.

All the PC's and related hardware we purchased between 2002 and 2011, was all eventually trashed or given away (thank goodness for charity tax credits).

All the Mac's we have purchased since 2009 are still in operation, running perfectly, and with zero headaches.

Which machine is faster is not nearly as important as which machine is more reliable, and which one is easier to get support for. Apple wins hands-down. Reliability alone is worth the higher price.

I agree 100%

Never ever used a MAC, the day they will low their fucking prices, then i might consider to give it a try :thumbsup

If you keep your pc clean and updated it probably could be better than mac... :)

Denny 11-05-2015 02:54 AM

PC for me :pimp

LetterTwenty7 11-05-2015 03:44 AM

I don't know which one is better (using win8 myself), but one thing keeps popping - how did people live without technology in the past... So, yeah, PC for sure! :P

tossi-c 11-05-2015 04:03 AM

Last 5-6 years I have been using mac only!

I even still have a Power PC 400 running for limited use in our office for transaction display monitoring and it has always run perfectly. It is about 13 years old now. All Windows PCs I have ever seen and all of the ones used in our call center, need upgrades and replacement every few years at best.

Apple hardware and OS is designed to work together with strict quality standards. Not only that, but Apple support, whether in the phone or at the Apple Store is second to none. It is worth a few extra bucks IMO.

Mitch

In about i guess 20 years of using PC's i have never had to resort to call someone for support and I have never had to go back to a store. So I rather buy a ?500 laptop and pocket the other ?700.

?700 extra for every time you buy a new one, as the cost to call support or get support at a store nobody needs. Sounds like a great deal :1orglaugh

it depends the size your aiming

, in the high performance subnotebook league 12,5 13" < macbook pros and their retinas
overtook lenovo and sony vaio (discontinued)
lenovos x-series with the same power costs just the same as a macbook pro, in this case i prefer the solid case and design of the macbook and no need for an extra dock,
and beeing able to run dual boot on it has become a killer argument to switch over from lenovo to mac

also you allways can resell it for a decent price, thats not possible with a lenovo or another windows machine. they always loose 50% of their value the minute you open the box and within the first year of use

in the 14" + class + theres lots of windows alternatives were
you can get huge processing and graphic power for less then 1000$ and paying a whopping 1000$ more just for the mac brand is more an emotional then a rational decission, some are obliged because final cut or logic pro is necessary to run

i was born in 89 and in 96 i discovered windows and was there all the way to windows seven. two month again i started working on a mac and i discovered a new world. the easiest way of operating a system. it is so intuitive i literally think it;s retarded proof. i am not an Apple fan as i really don't like the phones or the tablets. put i will never buy a new PC again. ever.

Still using a PC. In fact, the same one. Still no issues. Nine years now or so.

Look Chang 08-15-2017 01:47 AM

Only PC now but I started to learn coding with an Apple comp in the 80s... :stoned
