There's no such thing as privacy.

Yes, you can change your IP or mask your IP, but if you think you're protected, you're wrong. I connected to a Sock5 Proxy through a VPN connection using a TOR browser, and this always shows the correct information.

Where Am I Right Now - Show Your Current Location on Google Maps

If a website can tell me exactly (down to the actual placement of my house), then I'm pretty sure any law enforcement agency can do even better. Privacy is a thing of the past, we're all open books now. Tread lightly.

My TOR browser came with NoScripts installed, With nothing white listed. I don't even get the button asking to share my location. Make sure noscripts is set up and blocking all scripts in your TOR browser. (Allow Scripts Globally Should not be enabled)

I wonder how that works. Does it have something to do with Javascript?

I was connected to a VPN and playing with BEEF (Browser Exploitation Framerwork). I noticed that my real IP was showing up in the BEEF browser. Not sure if it was in the Javascript hook, Or the hook was connected to port 3000 and that port was not protected by the VPN.

You haven't had privacy for some time now. Has nothing to do with the Internet.

In 1993 I discovered I had a brother (long story) and I had to track him down. The amount of information you can find on someone with just a name and a birthdate is staggering - and that was in 1993.

My office PC is now a Linux (Fedora) because of the Windows10 pricacy issues. I started with Ubuntu, cut they like to know about you as well, so I shifted to Fedora. If its good enough for Linus Thorvald, then it should be OK for me as well.

My gateway is a Cisco Sourcefire box, so I have a complete log of any traffic and where it goes.

Most of the small programs I use, I go through the sourcecode before compiling it.

But I still have two Windows8.1 boxes - one for videoediting and one gaming PC that havent been used the last 6 months

Google and Facebook still knows way to much about me, but at least I can keep out of the search bubble

Perhaps hundreds of years ago true privacy really existed. But today, in 2015 there is no privacy. Social media sites, cell phones, text messaging, instant messaging, twitter, all of it adds to this massive pressure to connect with others in your community. To live a private life in todays age, one would have to travel to a land where there are no other humans.

Not to mention that some there will be instant DNA testing results which can be used to identify you. Also biometrics combined with cameras everywhere (they are already in place) for such things as scanning faces and real time tracking of you from location to location using just your face.

Combine those with the fact that everyone carries a cellphone which is like a chip they implant into your dog at the vet.

You have to remember that the chips in your credit cards now give the ability to id you instantly. There is a similar chip in newer passports and the moment you enter the airport even while you are still in your car, sensors have already read the chip and know who you are. Same thing happens now when you walk into the mall.

Yes, I understand that you have to allow a the site to find your location. Do you think you'll get a letter in the mail from the NSA or FBI saying, "Would you like to share your location? If yes, please text yes to 8008". The location software is available, and it doesn't matter if you grant permission or not. The site I linked in the OP already has your location mapped out, it's simply asking your permission to make it available on their site.

Change the privacy and location settings all day, that don't do shit. I agree with most everyone that says we have no privacy. And no, I'm not doing anything wrong where I need to hide my identity or location...it's a principle thing.
