VW plans to recover from its scandal by going electric

VW announced it is ?giving our product range and our core technologies a new focus,? lurching away from diesel and toward another way to meet increasingly strict CO2 and NOx emissions regulations in the US and Europe: an increased focus on plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles.

Toyota also plans to go full electric by 2020. That's 5 years away for those who are math challenged.

The writing is very much on the wall. Things are changing very fast. These companies are not dumb, they see the writing on the wall and are making the needed changes to stay competitive.

no they don't. they're investing heavily in fuel cell vehicles. and they only project an uptick in electric sales from 1.3 million cars per year in 2015 to 1.5 million/year in 2020

They'll release a hybrid car that runs on electricity only when being tested for emissions and runs on diesel the rest of the time.

I guess you didn't catch my sarcasm. VW is a joke. Will be hard to believe anything they say for many years to come.
