I am pretty sure that most nuclear armed countries have a deadman switch that would be effective -- a doomsday device. So, if one goes we all go.

Sunlight would be altered in spectrum. Nuclear warfare will not be a contained Chernobyl-like event. Every major city in a nuclear armed country is a target of some adversary nuclear armed county.
In case of nuclear attack: Seek shelter, put your head between your legs and kiss your sweet ass good-bye. Only the elite will be in survivable locations never able to walk the surface again in their lifetimes. That is a life sentence underground in a bunker -- nuclear prison.

The USA wants a no-fly zone over Syria. But that would be a little too obvious. So the idea is to have the UK act as its little bitch/fallguy to go in first, to take the initial hit. Because when Russia shoots down UK fighters, its great pro-war propaganda. "Look at how evil these Russians, are attacking our ally like this. We must stand up to their aggression."
So the USA comes to the aid of its ally, draws its own line in the sand, and enforces a no-fly zone over Syria. Well, Russia is one country that has no reason to be afraid of the USA, and won't pull punches if they're backed into a corner and forced to fight. So when Russia begins shooting down USA fighters, well hey, its as good a reason as any to start WW3.
If all this is going to go down, it must begin before the elections. Because it seems, despite the media's greatest efforts, the people still seem to want Trump over Hillary.
