What is with people's designs having giant space between the content and items

What is with people's designs having giant space between the content and items, I have two 27 inch screens 1080p, name cheap for example is insane, its like it was built for a blind person. I spend more time scrolling than reading.

The one thing I learned from design is that big spacing between content, ie white space, is bad for productivity, accurately it is horrific for it.

Blame bad responsive design that only partially takes into account your screen width.
