Earlier this week retired NBA and now Chinese Basketball Association player Stephon Marbury took to Instagram to announce the resurrection of his Starbury sneaker line. The main goal of his brand was to provide people with extremely affordable sneakers, compared to major sportswear companies such as Nike and Jordan. While his on-going effort is commendable by many, most sneakerheads wouldn't be caught in a pair simply because of the way they look.

He then took to Twitter to speak about his sneakers compared to competitors, claiming that $200 Nikes and Jordans are made for $5 in the same factories his sneakers are made in. With prices steadily increasing, sneakers are becoming less affordable to the average consumer, regardless of quality.

Hmm? Looks the same as any other brand's basketball shoes.
I do not believe they will retail for 15 bucs and if they do - it is a miracle and a slam dunk.

I love my Nikes but hate the pair of Jordan's i got i know they are basically the same but the Jordan's dont fit as well.

He should charge 250 and call them a premium shoe. Maybe start a payment plan.

He might be right.

If I understand correctly, most bikes are made in the same exact factory, by Giant bikes. Doesn't matter if it's a $200 Schwinn or $2000 Cannondale.

You do realize that same factory can do cheap one and quality one? The mere fact that "it is made in the same factory" does not automatically mean that all goods are the same quality. Even when you deal with factories directly most of them as what do you want - cheap, average, best etc.

Yep yep.

Recently it's been discovered these same factories are producing crappy bikes and putting brand name logos on them, and selling the frames from China or where ever.

As the title says the sneakers are made in the same factory and that automatically doesnt mean that they are with the same quality
