Not only should he never have been allowed to return to the NFL he should still be in prison.

And I have no doubt he will not contribute anything to winning todays game. He has sucked ever since he returned and will continue to.

You could say he is still being punished as he has not had any success since returning.

                Yeah, um, no.

                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Vick

In April 2007, Vick was implicated in an illegal interstate dog fighting ring that had operated for five years. A federal judge noted that he had promoted, funded, and facilitated a dog fighting ring on his property, and had engaged in hanging and drowning dogs who did not perform well. He also had failed to cooperate fully with police.

He spent a few years in prison - not nearly long enough.

Look, I'm an animal lover, and I despise what Vick did. But he served his time, and since then, I can't find the actual stats, but he has done more for animal rights and to stop dog fighting than most animal rights organizations.

This is a country about second chances. The judicial system determined that he served his time, and should be allowed to move forward.

For all those outraged that he's getting to play in the NFL, how do you justify the rapists, murders and wife/mother beaters actively playing in the NFL?

Donte Stallworth (retired now) killed a HUMAN while driving drunk, plead guilty to DUI manslaughter, sat out a season, and no one blinked an eye when he signed with the Ravens the following year.

Someone please explain the justified hypocrisy to me?

I find it very hard to believe that a scum who is capable of drowning and hanging dogs suddenly can genuinely change into opposite person. Either you have a heart or not, you can not switch that.

Did he intend to kill him? Difference between one drunk driver and another usually is that one is lucky not to hit anybody. What I mean - you can be the nicest person, but too stupid to decide to drunk drive and be unlucky to hit somebody.

The argument has been made, though I don't know that I 100% buy it, that Vick grew up in a dog fighting culture, and didn't fully realize the wrong in what he was doing. I can kind of understand it, but at the same time, I feel like it's a bullshit excuse.

That being said, how do you defend Ray Rice, who was caught on video knocking out his wife. Or Greg Hardy, who strangled his girlfriend and threatened to kill her? Or the several sexual assault claims against Ben Roethlisberger? Or Ray Lewis (yes, retired, I know), who was charged with murder but agreed to testify against his friends and pleaded down. Lewis was fined $250,000 and didn't miss a game, and, was named Superbowl MVP the next year.

I guess it doesn't matter what you do to other people...

personally, i prefer dogs to people. people suck.

for what it's worth, i've seen tons of people die in tons of movies and the only movie to ever make me cry was Marley & Me.

Someone superman punch this goof, fight roosters, no one gives a shit about a devolve dinosaur .

Personally, life value wise, no difference between a rat and a cow to a dog to a cat, all the same, we are one of the few I consider sentient. The orangutan comes close to us in my books as it can talk in sign and make new words up to continue on his own vocabulary having the ability to describe anything around it self to us to a very discernible language.

Yes he's back in the NFL but at least so far as nothing more than a backup QB. Any team that has attempted to make him the #1 guy and build thier team around him has had to rethink that in short order. He's got talent but there's just something missing there. He's not the franchise guy people originally thought he was going to be.

As for the dog thing, he's done his time, sure, but I doubt he'll ever shake off the stigma of what he did. I hear he's really trying to atone for it though, and lift himself out the massively deep hole of ignorance he was in.
