Quick Wordpress Help please

I just installed a fresh wordpress on a site and didn't notice that I left the /WP for it to point to for the URL.

So now, when someone goes to the site, it's blank because the actual site is:

example [dot] com/wp/

I want it so when someone types in:

example [dot] com

it goes to the actual site instead of having the "/wp/" in the url.

Anyone know of a quick fix to this? and how to do it?

Use this plugin - https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-clone-by-wp-academy/

You can easily move it from the directory to the root.

You can also edit the config.php and find+replace, but Wordpress and plugins have a bad habit of serialization. It's faster if you know what you're doing, but it could easily turn into a nightmare real fast. Just use that plugin above, I use it to migrate entire sites to new servers and new domain names. It's pretty intuitive and self explanatory.

Good luck!

If the site is fresh... simply reinstall in root. Otherwise, look into that bit Rob posted.

I'm not too experienced with Wordpress so this plugin you recommended is perfect for me. You are right, it's really user friendly as it's intuitive and straight forward. Thanks again, it worked like a charm Thanks guys
