When I first heard talk of it when SOA ended, I thought I might check it out.

When the previous started rolling out, I thought it looked boring as shit. I kept hoping with each new preview I might suddenly become interested. Not a single clip inspired me to want to watch the show.

So I didn't. Nice to know I'm not missing anything.

Like OP I am giving it one more chance, every show has bad episodes, just not usually the first one. Most likely it's biggest flaw is being overhyped, the long ass double episode pilot did it no favors whatsoever, and trying to introduce a convoluted story line and a dozen or so characters all at once was also likely a mistake - none of those mistakes are impossible to recover from, unlikely maybe but it could turn out to be a 7 or an 8, but I think the 9 and 10 ships have sailed.

i didn't think it was that bad though i doubt i'll keep watching. lots of horrific killing and i just don't typically dig the medieval type stuff.

I thought it may have looked kind of bad from the preview. There's too many good shows to waste time on anything mediocre.

That time in history could be the basis for a lot of great shows.

If they did the usual thing and applied the usual sub plots and sideline characters. It misses the real drama that was going on.

Why do they get writers who have no clue about how people lived back in those days. Try to turn into a domestic drama. And ruin what could be a great series?

I was thinking the pilot was there to set up the story and I'm hoping that it will get better. Katie and Kurt, weird roles they are playing. Surprised she did a nude scene

The only part for me that set the scene was the introduction text. The rest was assuming men in the 13th Century thought like we do. Think of them as more like Jihadists thinking they were doing god's work killing people. Women were regarded as possessions, as were the Serfs. Bathing was uncommon even in the upper classes.

Don't know where she did a nude scene. Doubt if it was inside a house made of mud, they were cold. Castles were freezing. Look at the clothing the people wore.

History has some of the greatest stories ever made. They just need to stick to the facts.

no one wants to watch a show of facts. there is a formula that works for these cable shows and strong character building is key. most people won't know or care if they are completely accurate.
