Twelve Iraqi's in Montreal!

Just saw a newspot on CBC newschannel..... 12 Iraqi's now living in Monreal were interviewed today. They were some of the lucky ones that were able to get out a few years ago, and I found some of thier comments interesting.

Every one of them expressed sentiments that Bush Senior should have finished off saddam's regime 12 years ago.

All of them agreed and spoke freely to the fact that a change in Iraqi leadership is long overdue.

ALL of them expressed concerns for family members they had to leave behind and for the safety of their families, but at the same time made it clear that they support the "destruction of the killing machine that is run by Saddam Hussein"

There you have it...... former Iraqi citizens. NATIVES of Iraq, confirming the attrocities that the Iraqi people have had to endure from Saddam's regime.

this interview was not scripted, not staged in any way, CBC news is not known for arranging propaganda, and as eveyone now knows Canada is not participating actively in this war, although much of Canada does support the US in principle (for what it's worth).

I believe them, but it does not justify US to launch a war against Iraq. North Korean people are also in agony, why not save them. Oh wait.....North Korea has nuclear weapons and is much much more dangerous than Iraq. I guess U.S. only goes after the weak ones.

I saw on the news today that the FBI is going to question 10,000 Iraqi's living in the USA for possible terrorist connections.

In and of itself, no, you're correct. But when coupled with all the other reasons.........

This is just one more little peice of the puzzle, a clue as to what the truth is here. Comments have been made about the Iraqi people, and this serves to shed some light on how they truly feel when given their freedom and a right to speak freely about their former country.

CDSmith.. I hope they re-broadcast that later tonight... I'd like to see it too.
I saw something relatively similar on Dateline NBC several weeks ago. They were interviewing 3 different Iraqi families that were now living in the US, and they all said the same thing.

It's too bad that people have to live under such conditions. I'm thankful I don't have to.

I doubt that. If there were any Iraq would trot them out in front of the cameras lickity-split.

You just watch and see N. Korea will be next.

And it does justify a war. The whole picture!

So you don't care about the people in Japan and S. Korea? That could be nuked.

Also it is rather funny that China, and Russia have done nothing about the North.

Moreover, the UN has been asked twice to deal with N. Korea issue, but I guess they were to busy appointing Lybia to the Head of the Human Right Commission.

CD,
I have not seen one Iraqi American that is opposed to this war. Not one.

The most intresting thing I've seen related to Iraq in quite a while was few weeks back when I watched Frontline on PBS about Desert Storm. It told all the details that were hardly ever shared before and how we basically allowed the Iraqi army to leave Kuwait with all their helicopters and shit and fly them fully loaded right over our troops so they could crush the rebellion in the south of Iraq. It's pretty disgusting to me that you let someone surrender and take all their weapons and shit and then watch them slaughter their own citizens and do nothing about it.

Think about it...governments want our support in this war. That's why they put them on TV.

Even if it's a Canadian based news organization....Canada will eventually back this war...and this is a way to get the people behind it.

Our Prime Minister might be trying to pretend we have some balls by not backing the war right away....but when the US comes knocking...we will. Economically we can't afford not to.

If we don't go to war the US will bully us and cut off trades.

So what if there are 12 Iraqi's backing this...for those 12 there are probably 12 more strapping themselves with bombs...ready to go on suicide missions.

but... but... its my homeland. My ancestors got here in 1647.

Why should I leave? This is my homeland. I cant run my business because of the uneducated halfwhits who follow the letter of the law of a 3000 year old camel fucking semite religion. They need to go. This is not what the founders of my nation had in mind. I could have sworn they wanted seperation of church and state.

I shouldnt have to live under an oppressive theocracy.

Please Canada, somebody... liberate me.

Have you ever heard of "picking your battles?" Believe me, N. Korea is one place we don't want to go. We go there and they nuke the south. With Saddam, if we wait 5 years, we'll have another N. Korea.

Okay there's that. But by-and-large the CBC news machine is about as UN-bias as it gets. They often keep their mouths shut and simply allow the interviewee to say what they need to say. I wish more reporters in the world would shaddap and just report the news instead of flapping off about what they think. I don't watch the news to hear what the reporter thinks, I watch the news to find out what happened.
