It is an affiliate program, focused on adult offers... But there are a few other interesting thing there

Are you guys pushing only dating and casual gaming and such or are you doing paysites etc. too?

we are doing paysites also, we are calling the business vertical "Adult"

I think (this is a little of a guess) they may need to start as invite only as sales caps maybe limited on some offers.
Invite only allows them get to know the advertiser and try to forecast demand on the offers.
In some cases networks secure 'offers' with prepays based on expected volume for limited items. Memberships to sites are one thing but ship-able offers and lead gen offer in many cases have limits. I'm sure as they grow they will have enough open cap offers etc that they can remove the the "invite only" requirement. Again I'm just speculating based on how some offer networks and offer providers have started out in the past.
