I worked at a small business, a Japanese was thinking of buying or partnering with. Our company was drowning in red ink.
The 2 owners were husband and wife. The Japanese had an American guy who was paid to explain America. A week before the the big meeting he called and asked for a pre-meeting and could he wear shorts, as in Japan he had to sleep in a suit & tie.
Husband boss, "no problem."
Wife, "how disgusting."
This is from a couple living in the 2nd richest city in XX, on the top 50 list in the US.
The attitude I got from the wife was
Wife, "my name is XXX, I live in XXXXXXD, my daddy is a doctor, and since you don't have the same social graces, you're (fucking) SCUM.
They were so broke, they sent me to SAM'S club to buy the industrial size Fruit Loops to feed the kids supper.
