Epassporte - Same visa headaches

Everybody's been suggesting that epassporte is the solution to Paypal pulling out of adult. Nobody denies paypal pulled out of adult because visa forced them to. Why should Epassporte be any different?

I give them 2 months. Willing to place bets.

I believe epassporte is based in Curacao and not the US. So it is not bound by VISA US regulation.

Think about how long PayPal was really in the adult business. A year? A little more? My guess would be that they did not know how to manage it, and, that they got out for PR purposes.

Whatever the reason, one processor has nothing to do with the other.

epassport has their game on lock

why whine, if they are going to go down, they are going to go down, nothing more you can do

profit while you can in this business, then move on to the next.

EP's Visa Electron doesen't work at most PIN based merchants here(almost at no gas station), I haven't found content possible to pay for by their virtual Visa, which is rejected by almost evryone. Maybe they should do some fixes before selling their product. It looks like, that it's in beta test, but it isn't.
Stats on their site is full of errors(for example, $450 - 106 CZK = $344(don't shave money, just stats error). I've heard from some of my friends, that they had blocked their account without any reason. Last month they charged me twice for one transaction, saying, that the mrchant precharged me & then charged me second time & that the first transaction will be canceled in 30 days. That's Visa's rule according to their words, but why my bank never did it, when it's Visa's rule & not EP fault?
Sorry, but i haven't seen such a unprofessional product released online since the "dot com boom" ended.

once you understand the concept of epassport, and the banking structure, and everything factors in you will understand it is a different and better setup than paypal

Epassporte should do ok. I would suggest getting your atm / pin card upgraded though so you can make POS purchases without a pin code. Just like a visa check / debit card.

I hear the paypal mastercard is real popular.

Someone help me, where has it been stated that VISA made Paypal stop processing adult?

Could it be that Paypal made this decision on their own?

i think what may be wise since alot of people are optimistic is epoch go on a few radio shows, and start a few threads on the boards and totaly explain how epassport works , and how they are solidly structured and more people will understand

would be the good route to go down

Clay, Epoch,

don't take this wrong, but for awhile I have been thinking you might consider changing the name from epassporte to something a little easier. If this is going to be small and just for adult, well then it's ok. but if you plan on alot of market share, that name is hard to remember, and for alot the spelling will be tough.

Look at pete, he just spelled it, epassport, as many will spell that way.

thanks

Todd

Grip,

So we're at i'd say about $450,000.00 USD bet

care to take it? or care to research more and understand that epassport will stay around, and does work and benefit our industry greatly.

Good suggestion STP.

We do have some ideas about getting the good word out.

Anyone who has a question you think should be addressed please drop me a line.
Epassporte can learn as much from your questions as WM's do from the answers.

.. I think you're betting money for people that don't have it lol ...

and Yeah paypal didn't get "shutdown",they basically backed out.
epassporte should be solid for the long term since a lot of people involved are actually in the adult business as well...Paypal really wasn't and therefore really didn't give a fuck

Heres a question,

If i am moving large amounts of funds through your services and i decide to cash my account out, can i show up at your office and have all the hundreds stacked and counted in a black briefcase in under 24 hours?

And if so, what is the surcharge, and don't tell me you want a vig for the briefcase. Business expense.

I checked out their website and called them. I was told that they are rebuilding their website and from what I gather it is like a prepaid phone card, you put money into the account and then use it. I don't know if this will fly with surfers.

MaxDent -- ePassporte is not really that much like a prepaid phone card, first off in that you can't use it to make phone calls... ;)

What ePassporte is :
1. A way for individuals to transfer money between one another easily and instantly.
2. A way for resellers to be paid by their sponsors instantly and with guaranteed funds.
3. A way for surfers who are declined on high risk transactions to be reclaimed by offering them an alternative method of payment.
4. A way for companies to control their petty cash, employee spending and anything else they currently do with cash.
5. A way to accept payments from surfers who have ePassporte accounts currently.
6. A way for anyone with a website to increase their income and lower their chances of chargebacks, while offering their potential customers yet another way to pay.

I don't see Epassporte going very far if they simply don't respond to emails like they didn't respond to mine.. Or several other people's who've posted here... Or do you have to belong to some secret society and have email addresses NOT listed on their website as forms of contact?

A company that makes me wait a week for a reply really doesn't want my business.

SuperWeb and FlashFreak:

Let me clear some of this up for you.

Epassporte is aware of some acceptance problems with Electron Card Holders attempting to make purchases at POS merchants. The problem however is caused by merchants/banks that do not adhere to the strict electronic processing rules put forth from Visa. Since this is a factor outside of our control, we are working on other methods of authentication and risk management which would allow for optimum acceptance until the banks of the world catch up with the technology of today.

A hosting service or content provider that you would like to pay via epassporte simply needs their own epassporte account to take advantage of instant and inexpensive payments from you or any other epassporte account holder (which by the way number in the thousands).

The stats are being revised to be more user-friendly and any errors that were reported have been corrected. A better interface is coming as early as next week.

As for blocked accounts, I can assure you that if an account was blocked there was a reason. Or, if it was temporarily suspended that it was a simple matter of risk management looking into a matter and halting transactions until the matter was resolved. This has indeed happened to a few people that we have corresponded with personally. Risk models for this type of product are extremely important during the initial launch and if a measure appears to be over-zealous we apologize for any inconvenience but that's the way it is. As more transactions take place on epassporte accounts these issues will go away.

The double charge issue you speak about is not actually a double charge. The merchant, whomever it was, did a pre-auth on your card and instead of closing the pre-auth with the sale he simply charged your card again. That means that you had funds reserved for a sale that was still pending because the merchant did not follow proper protocol. Pre-auth's will fall off automatically ususally within a few days but it could take as long as 30 days.

Epassporte is a product built for the needs of online commerce. It is a Visa product. It's functionality holds great potential for those who understand how it works. We have every reason to respond to your questions and concerns because it helps epassporte to be a better product.

Hit me up if this didn't answer your questions.

Never thought I would do this, but I agree with Pete.

Not enough webmasters know what and how they can benefit from Epassporte.

Clay, if you are reading, I know our organization for one would like to know more. As I'm sure others are.

Anthony A,

We will put together a post for GFY'ers about epassporte and it's functionality and benefits since you and Pete think it would be a good idea to educate the webmaster community.

I will also be happy to email this information to anyone who wants it. Just drop me a line with your interest and questions and we'll put that together for you.

We have also had conference phone forums in the past few weeks and will be happy to do these again. Anyone can call in and listen in and ask questions. Spots are limited to about 30 participants at a time. Again, drop me a line if you are interested. [email protected].
