    Obviously the immediate fall out is going to be a nightmare for them - What about in 6 months though?..

      I would imagine they will be completely done within the next few months... With their DB released confirming that the site is like 0.05% females, who's gonna pay? They are gonna get chargebacked to shit, billers will drop them so they won't even get the residual recurring money... Hard to imagine them bouncing back.

              I don't know - We read behind the headlines - We knew that there are no women on the site - If my step dad decided to have an affair though, I doubt he knows any of those sort of details...

                          Yes we all know between the lines but is it all over the news including late night talks shows and more that there are hardly any real women on the site at all to go along with the fake female profiles. Being so widely publicized I can't see someone with half a brain paying for a membership there even if they're thinking with the wrong brain.

                          I think they could last but there will be massive layoffs IMO in order to keep afloat.

                                          They could easily return stating stronger security etc. but not sure how they are going to rebound the fact that they don't have women on the site that are real. That's going to ot just hurt them but if someone actually did a study from the mainstream media on the overall picture - they'll find that it's not uncommon and that the majority of dating sites are loaded with fake profiles and that basically it's a sausage factory. In the end the opinion will state, women don't need those sites - only men and that the adult industry plays off of that thereby creating a fantasy that all the men are actually talking to bots and inhouse employee's keeping up the fantasy

Don't be surprised if some of the fallout starts to affect other dating sites. People are stupid to a point, then they will have to be convinced that women actually participate or they not spend their money anymore. Of course, I could be wrong. If you see an ad where a woman says I want to fuck you and you believe that, then you will believe anything.

They should have given in to the hacker's demand from the start because at least that way, they could have saved face and at the same time given law enforcement time to investigate and catch the hackers, then they could have reopened the site and business would have come back. This is a 100mn a year scam, one article stated the majority of the female profiles had the static email pointing to ashleymadison.com which just basically means the employees were sitting there posing as real females.                                                                                                                                                                       The enormous data leak from the Ashley Madison infidelity dating website has not stopped people joining the service, the company says.
                                                                                                                                                                      "Hundreds of thousands" of new members joined the website last week, according to owner Avid Life Media.
                                                                                                                                                                      Details of more than 33 million accounts were stolen from the website and published online in August.
                                                                                                                                                                      On Friday, the company's chief Noel Biderman stepped down. The firm said the move was in its "best interests".
