So I checked if one of my seed emails was on the hack on one of those database checkers yesterday, and today I get an email from them:

I see a number of federal charges in a few company's futures.

They can probably get away with publishing the hacked data through some loop hole or other. But when they start profiting from the hacked data...selling various services to those who look up their addresses, that's likely a whole new ball game.

And the truth is they don't even check against real AM database and just charge fee to suckers. Probably same people who sold fake antiviruses through shady merchant accounts and now hide in Eastern Europe knowing there are warrants for their asses.

Comparing Standard Internet to those guys is comparing apples to apples. One of them just happened to get away with it. But the cost to innocent people and companies worldwide in lost productivity and IT costs was substantial for both scams. And yes Ron (12 clicks) if you are reading this (as I'm sure you will)...that doesn't make you 'a better' or a successful businessman. It just makes you low life scum. If Ponzi schemes were all the rage back then, I have no doubt you would have had your finger in one of those as well.
