Can someone from the UK tell us about thisislondon.com ?
Is it a legitimate news source?

i don't know it, but it looks legit. the sbs (special boat squadron) are our equivielnt of your navy seals. if it is true the bbc.co.uk website will have it soon.

The site is run by the London Standard which is probably as reliable as any other tabloid news source (more so than some).

Not sure what the article said though as the link doesn't work.

This type of preparation by Special Operations Forces prior to primary forces going into action is SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) so I would say that the report is true.

we've got a lot of b52's based here, and it will be reported pretty quick here when they take off, that should give an idication of when it's about to kick off properly.
