          These are individual banks........ chosen from thousands of banks globally. That does not mean there are not hundreds of other very strong banks but these ones are ranked as the very strongest according to all the key criteria such as debt, deposits, tier 1 capital etc. According to Global Finance mag, KFW (in Germany) is ranked the strongest bank in the world and seems to score in the top every year.

              That Singapore bank, Overseas would be the strongest as it has been in the top 4 for the past 5 years and twice being #1

                          And Capital One is universally derided as a predatory lender. I guess teaming with Samuel Jackson got them strong.
