mini ice age? WTF???

tired of this shit.

tired of being insisted upon that Man is warming the earth, its gonna be a blowout, & then this.

why cant climate nutters just admit we dont understand all the inputs that effect climate? its gonna change, colder or warmer, by forces far more powerful than the collective pollution of Man.

it doesn't matter what you think about the silly debate. what matter is the actions you take towards polluting less and conserving more.

if every single mother fucker on the planet agreed right fucking now with **********, guess what- climate change will still be happening.

conserve energy and water, dispose of your pollution properly, and volunteer to clean up locally = sleep well knowing you are doing your part.

I didn't read the article, but there have always been 2 long stated theories about out of control global warming..

The first is the warming will continue until the earth in uninhabitable much like what they think happened to Mars. It warmed so much the water evaporated and the planet lost its atmosphere.

The second theory says the Earth will keep warming until all the ice at the poles is gone. Once this happens, the ocean currents will stop moving around the planet and will cause a rapid cooling.. Ie another ice age.

Either way you look at it, we are talking mass extinction of all life on Earth. No one knows what will happen, but it certainly doesn't hurt to try and stop it or at the very least slow its progress which is something we could do..

Neither of these theories is new...

The loss of Mars atmosphere had nothing to do with "warming" and everything to do with the loss of its magnetic poles...You see the poles provide a planet (including earth) with its magnetosphere which protects the atmosphere from solar winds. The solar winds is what happened to Mars atmosphere

last I checked we dont know why Mars lost is magnetic core. But as far as I know it has never been attributed to loss of water or "warming"...global or otherwise.

Nobody with half a brain argues climate change...it is happening as it has been since the earth was formed...how much of that climate change is directly attributable to any one or any combination of things man made is what is arguable.

Personally I think that if you insist one attributing amy portion of it to man the main culpret is population, I think any way you cut it that is the core issue...

I can see the 2030 headlines now...

The President Commits To Fighting Global Cooling

The President today signed an Executive Order raising penalties on companies that don't produce enough co2.

"We need that co2 to keep in the sun's heat, these heartless companies are withholding it from the American people with the flimsy excuse about it costing much more to produce co2 today than it did 20 years ago due to the mandatory scrubbing technology that was required at that time, they keep crying that removal of the scrubbing technology violates The Clean Air Act II OF 2015. My order sends a clear message, double you output or else."

In related news Congress announces tax hikes to combat Global Cooling in the form of a Carbon Debit scheme...

It certainly won't happen before 2100 and it's a great chance that most people on this forum will be dead by that time.
If you are afraid for your kinds and grandchildren, there's a big chance they will lead a better life than you. Since the industrial revolution, every new generation lives a better life. You childhood was better than your parents' childhood and their was better than their parents' etc.

Arguing about warming or cooling is getting us nowhere.

Instead, can we start an effort that revolves around creating a cleaner earth? Eliminating trash, air pollution, water pollution, etc. etc. Does anyone have any argument against that? Is there anybody running around screaming "we need more smog?!"

It seems to me that putting all of our energy behind a topic that we can all agree on and actually do something about would be much more productive than arguing whether or not God exists (which is essentially what the global warming/cooling argument is, little can really be proven with data changing daily.) And hey, maybe in the process, the earth might just stop warming/cooling/whatever the hot topic of the year is.

We need to reframe this conversation. But that might take actual work.

you like to mix up your politics with science but conservative politics has nothing to do with the 6th global extinction event in 4 billion years.

but hey, we all need to agree with you in the debate on climate change.

I don't think that anyone has said that human's actions are the only thing that affects to Earth's climate. For example if that sun shuts down, there is not that much for us to do. Well, maybe if we could get shitload of thermal energy before it cools down.

Dude, there are a dozen things threatening the planet right now. Only the ones that help put in place a world government that would be semi-benevolent for 15 years before it got down to the eternal business of enriching the already rich and tax farming the peasants, will be chosen as "issues."

People really should pollute less. They should strive to protect and nurture their habitat. That would be common sense. There is no need to infer from that, or from the data that is presented by any federally funded agency, that global climate change is caused primarily by man.

There are too many people. You can go ahead and say that; you don't have to pretend "global warming" is your issue. How you reduce the population is the rub. Do it in a transparent, respectful manner and no one cares. Do it by reducing food supply, transportation, and medicine in the name of "global warming" and people have a problem.

Pollution and natural resource management are real problems. Man made global climate change is still just a theory.

funny how it's a model that COULD predict with 97% accuracy, if a few assumptions work out, done by a few people, in 15 years, is taken as granted

while climate change is something occurring now, supported by thousands of scientists, with proof found everywhere, is a conspiracy

Imagine that job ad being written. "The position requires someone that's snarky with a low IQ. Candidate must be an underachiever, unmotivated and unskilled. Being known throughout the industry as an annoying prick with no accomplishments and zero business acumen and an unhealthy obsession with Americans, a plus...."

I think the OP wasn't necessarily putting any faith in the "Ice Age" science, but rather using it to show that the scientist(s) involved are using the same faith and zealousness as the ones that believe Man Made global warming are in their science. No matter whose camp you're in, some scientists are getting paid by someone, and it's not in their best interest to bite the hand that feeds them. It would be proving themselves out of a job.

if that sun shuts down? that's billions of years away, and could be longer than we think. i'm pretty sure there are more pressing issues in a scale that matters more than that...

and yet

why do you two carry on like this year in and year out? id assume big successes like yourself would have better things to do than follow me around

perhaps we should all sit down and have a beer and sort things out?

or, one of you can cry about sexy-doing-way-better-now blondes, while the other screams obscenities at the local tree
Don't flatter yourself fuckwit. I can't even remember the last time I directed a post at you, so there's hardly any "following" you around.

In an industry full of unintelligent, unprofessional people, you can't even do anything more than manage a job that any unskilled 18 year old can. In fact, I can think of a few reps that I assumed were in their late 20s or 30s, only to find out later they were 18 or 19, because they were so intelligent, so knowledgeable and so good to work with. A couple post on this board.

You on the other hand represent companies with a personality and demeanor that screams "I'm both incredibly dumb, unprofessional, lack any degree of self awareness or any useful industry knowledge at all" and you're an adult with many years of experience that can't even do a job well, which a child or well trained monkey could do.

It was an example, not pressing issue.

I don't know what is the problem in here. Maybe my dindo nuffin to English is a bit rusty?

Yeah you've been busy. Busy finding a new skill job which any 18 year old can do. Good job. Your mail order bride won't be fooled for long... so don't throw that catalogue away just yet.

Actually it does, because we have heard over and over from conservative climate deniers that it's impossible for man to have global effects on the Earth..

More so, a very common belief from religious fanatics whom are also usually right wingers, is all a animals were put on Earth for man to make use of. If man is causing the extinction of these animals it must mean that man can have an effect at the global level and the invisible guy in the sky must not be keeping count of the animals he put here for us to do what ever we wanted with..

The very fact that man is to blame for this extinction, goes against core beliefs of the right wing... There for its obvious this must be a plot by Al Gore or PETA..

none of that has anything to do with your op. the simple undeniable fact is climate change is nothing compared to the bigger issue of global extinction. either way, keep on trumpeting climate change, because you've certainly not changed the hearts and minds of those you try to persuade, maybe you'll get lucky before you're extinct.

i see. well, getting back to the matter at hand..

do you feel man is incapable of having an affect on the environment, while being capable of causing a mass extinction?
