Dogs rock. In the past 8 months I lost my last two. One to cancer and the other to senility. They were 11 and 14 yrs old and I miss them very much. I think about getting another.
us dog owners know how loving and loyal these animals are. To see how the ones caught in the dog meat trade are treated before slaughter, is the worst feeling , we cannot ignore this is happening RIGHT NOW everyday in the world

btw, sorry, hate to bring this up in a happy thread, i'm just passionate about animals, and really wish they can all be helped
Before giving money to PETA be aware the dogs you hope to save will more than likely be euthanized. I was stunned when I read this.
"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals killed most of the animals at its Norfolk, Virginia, shelter in 2014, according to preliminary figures filed with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services."
"The group euthanized 2,454 of its 3,369 cats, dogs and other animals, the vast majority of which were "owner surrenders," meaning that they'd been relinquished to the group voluntarily. Just 23 dogs and 16 cats were adopted."
well FUCK!
Animals really got a shitty deal in this fucked up world
23 dogs adopted in 2014, one every 2 1/2 weeks. Pitiful compared to the millions they take in with their massive fundraising. Just another scam charity when you look at the numbers.
The best solution to the problem with unwanted dogs/cats would be free or charity subsidized spay/neuter programs. Don't have the little critters born in the first place.

But who thinks to go to PETA to adopt an animal? I think most people would immediately think SPCA. Personally, every animal I have had has been a stray that showed up at my house or that of someone I know.

We have that where I live. Several times a year they have spay and neuter clinic weekends which are free for stray/feral animals - they notch an ear so animal control knows it has been fixed, and $10 for pets. They also have free rabies vaccination weekends.
Not rabbi's, but they should probably be vaccinated too.
I wish more people took advantage of it. There is currently a pregnant cat that has started lounging on my back porch. I think it is the indoor cat that belonged to my neighbors, that ran off about a month before they moved.

We find it so much cheaper than the good dry food, fast boil a bit of veg so it doesn't deteriorate in the fridge or freezer, add the recommended amount of raw meat, and watch your dog blossom. I takes 30 minutes tops every few days.
nice call jscott! I'm actually a long time donator for a local organization called Anima Subotica (warning, serbian content lol). I give them both dog food and money on a regular base, just because I can, and many people can't... anyways, it's good to see so many dog lovers around ;)

Good job! The best way to donate is to a local shelter you can visit and see for yourself how it's run.
