I don't believe the confederate flag should be flown from any government buildings or offices. For me, it has little to do with racism than it does with the fact that the confederate flag represents an attempt at armed secession from the United States. While this plays an important role in our history on so many different levels, it is not something we should be celebrating. It is definitely something our government offices should not be saying.

At the same time we do not have to remove every instance of the confederate flag. The Dukes Of Hazard does not represent slavery in any way.

If people want to fly the flag of an organization that existed for four years and was an utter failure, that's fine. Just not from public buildings.

If TV Land wants to run Dukes of Hazzard, they'll run it. If they don't, they won't. They predict not running that show will earn them more money than running the show. And that is their business decision to make. Why any capitalist would have a problem with that is bizarre.

While I agree the media is race baiting, just try to imagine if it was a flag of a swastika to try and put it in perspective. White supremacists identify with that flag as the flag of when whites had the power of enslavement over other races, not necessarily the flag of confederate states or the flag of Daisy Dukes.

We had a civil war, we should not forget it.
The Confederate Flag was draped over the fallen soldiers of the south. There is no right or wrong with this, we came together as one people. Denying it ever existed is BullShit.

As far as the race baiters, the numbers still stand 50/50 on the people that count, the ones that live there.

No one is forgetting the civil war or the confederate flag. No one is denying they existed. It is still being taught in US History classes. The flag is printed in text books and being displayed inside museums, where it belongs. Stop playing the victim

It's not censorship. The general feeling is that it's time that the flag stop being flown. By all means it should be kept in books and museums and people should never forget its history, etc. Today though, it just has no place on a flagpole.
