    Super-private social network launched to take on Facebook with support of Anonymous


    A new social network, backed by Anonymous, hopes to take on Facebook and the other social media giants with a commitment to privacy, security and transparency about how posts are promoted.

    The site, Minds.com, has the same basic options as any other social network: users send updates to their followers, who can comment or promote posts that they read. But unlike its competitors it doesn?t aim to make money from gathering data ? instead, it encrypts all messages, so that they can?t be read by advertisers or by governments.

      "By submitting Content to Minds for inclusion on your Website, you grant Minds a world-wide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish the Content solely for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting your blog. This license allows Minds to make publicly-posted content available to third parties selected by Minds so that these third parties can analyze and distribute (but not publicly display) your content through their services."

      "You also give other Minds users permission to share your Content on other Minds sites and add their own Content to it (aka to ?remind? (share) your Content), so long as they use only a portion of your post and they give you credit as the original author by linking back to your site. Certain content which you license Creative Commons or other open licenses can override this term."

                      "Minds discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations"

                      "If Minds, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Minds goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Minds may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy."
