We did a classroom scene once and forgot to buy chalk.
Also didn't have blank paper.
That is certainly not big enough of a problem to hold everybody up while someone ran to the store.
Once the models had their lines down, I wrote this on the back of the paper and hung it on the board:
"To whomever stole the chalk: it is not funny, please return it at once. Thank you."
You could see that something was printed on the other side of the paper, but could not tell what.
