Where have all the good designers gone?

What a shame.. All of the best designers getting poached by larger programs. Not blaming the designers, it's a smart move and they earned it trudging through individual commissions.

Yet there is still that bullshit thing in me that is like.. Why did you sell out bro?

Even though I would do the exact same..lol.

I'm looking for a list of trustable designers (no creatives being leaked) who can do quick clean work that is high resolution (no fuzzy badly compressed images). For fair pricing in relation to the size of the job.

These will be for landing pages only for the most part. I'd like to add onto my resources for future partners and clients of mine..and be able to give them someone who can make quick edits and whip up single page creatives without too long of a scheduled wait.

Again, smaller jobs.. But frequent work.

Ill take that compliment as if it were genuine

Ive worked with some of the best designers in the business (dickmans, anna, jd, zuzanna, one of my best got snapped up by pimproll), and built long term relationships. Unfortunately, every year the pick of the litter gets swollowed up by larger entities on retainer.

Like I said, I don't blame them. I would do the same thing. Steady work less hassle juggling.

I'm not looking to exploit anyone, I pay fairly, I know exactly what I want and send layouts to that effect. These are quick single page with maybe one small accompanying third page jobs.

What I am looking for is prompt turnover (nothing unreasonable) and fair pricing.

I have A LOT of work and will have more work for my partners in the near future. So if anyone wants steady work that is incredibly cut and dry almost year round please shoot me a PM with portfolio and pricing for pages akin to landing pages.

      Apologies if this offends anyone

God knows you can't post a business thread on GFY a these days without someone taking a shit.

            Diomed,

You know where to find me if you need anything done as I'm always around. I have a couple new designers on my team and I have been through SOO many to find new help. So I understand what you're saying about designers seeming to have vanished. It's been harder and harder over the years to find good creative reliable help. Thankfully the team I have now is the best of the best.

Loreen and Zuzana have never let me down, not even a little bit, both in terms of exactly what I wanted and quick turnaround.

Can't do that. But will have rough outlines for the designers to quote

                            Thanks guys,

This is enough to start chipping away at testing out some relationships.

I've had some designers in the past not be flexible when it comes to pricing out 3/4 page landing creatives. Wanting to lump it into other categories priced more like small pay sites.. Which they are definitely not.

Quick turn around is always great, especially when dealing with partner referrals of mine for projects we are working on together.

Thanks for the info. I will be in touch with some of you soon for quotes.

You've just answered your own question, as a service provider they follow the money and there is far more money in mainstream for someone who can function in that enviroment.

I answered to that effect in my original post in case you missed it.

I understand exactly why they have left, and if I was in their same position I would do the same..and in fact have done to some effect with my local mainstream development work that pays just as well as adult and is more stable with only half a work weeks worth of hours required.

I only have self-contained campaigns left in adult.. But I'm starting a new venture that most importantly could prove to be fun and scratch my creative itch. With that, I'm going to be acquiring working partners and I need a group of designers with decent turn around times to call on for creatives.

Have you thought of using a service like freelancer.com? I use designers on their site extensively for mainstream projects. The beauty of these designers is that 99% of the time they have absolutely no experience within your area of business..which is a good thing. You don't get stale done-to-death concepts from designers that have been in the industry too long. 99% of the adult sites out there now are virtually indistinguishable from each other.

I like that idea from a privacy front.. But I give my designers near exact templates to work by. I don't call on their own creativity much at all.

                                          Old school. I remember you.

But if iI recall correctly your prices were a bit tall.. But the work was outstanding.

Personally having used dickmans and others alike, I find that from a conversion perspective.. Sometimes creatives can look too nice and rich, and actually intimidate the referral a smidge.

Web 2.0 designs have worked best.
