How to Defeat Texas BS - They Texas Way!

    https://www.yahoo.com/parenting/poli...207241667.html

Sisters who set up a lemonade stand to fund a Father?s Day gift on Monday were shut down by the police due to a lack of permit.

Andria Green, 8, and her sister Zoey, 7, set up the lemonade stand to raise the $105 they needed for tickets to the Texas waterpark Splash Kingdom. They were selling lemonade for 50 cents and kettle corn for one dollar on their street in the town of Overton, but about an hour after opening, police showed up and told the girls they needed a permit to sell the lemonade. Police agreed to waive the fee of the permit, which normally would cost $150. ?The officer told them they had to go to city hall to get a permit,? Overton Police Chief Clyde Carter tells Yahoo Parenting. ?Then the city told them they had to check with the health department, which they didn?t do.?

According to a Texas law, the sale of food that requires temperature control to prevent spoiling is illegal without a permit. ?It?s because of the bacteria that can grow in the lemonade,? Carter says. ?The popcorn they were selling was perfectly legal.?

But Sandi Evans, the girls? mom, told KLTV that sending the family to the health department was too much. ?I think that?s ridiculous,? Evans said. ?I think they?re 7 and 8 and they?re just trying to make money for their own cause.?

Evans did not respond to Yahoo Parenting?s request for comment.

On Facebook, Evans wrote that she was feeling defeated. ?The police department was very nice to us and provided us with the correct paperwork to get a ?lemonade selling permit,?? she says. ?This is unreal! It?s just lemonade! I almost feel slapped in the face as a return for the effort my family puts into our community!?

Instead of pursuing the permit, the girls will set up a new stand this Saturday, according to KLTV: Free lemonade, donations welcome.

    Excellent marketing.

You can buy a firearm without a license in Texas, yet a kid selling lemonade needs a permit. What kind of fucked up country is this?

I wonder in what places can you sell food by the side of the road without any health department restrictions? I seem to recall a lot of taco stands in Mexico, but in first world countries this is pretty much normal. Sorry, being 7 and 8 years old is not a license to bypass health codes for food service. If it was most US streets would be filled with children selling food to support their immigrant parents.
            - As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.

Yep, you can have 2 kids (by 21) and not be able to buy a beer...

Too much of a hazard these 2 little girls!

It's pretty ridiculous two little girls cannot run a neighborhood lemonade stand considering:
(Even the cops knew it was fucked and helped get them a free permit...then the health department steps in...

Do all the roadside vendors selling oranges, water etc have health department permits? I doubt it. Not in LA they don't.)

                Monsanto is poisoning the world
                Oil companies antics
Open borders swelling gang and social services ranks...Indeed the US is fucked.

I remember we used to do lemonade stands when I was a kid for a trip to the toy store, the movies or buy a present for a family member. Sad those days are in the rear view mirror.

Wait...I forgot they found a go around. Donations...If I lived there I would be dropping by with a few bucks... Maybe pompous John could do it if he's not too afraid the 7 year old might be dosing the lemonade...

The Rise Of The Regulatory State.

When I was a kid the cops would stop and buy from us, we sold Kool-Aid and 50% marked-up candy bars.

Guns without a permit or security check: Ok.
                      Open Carry: Ok.
                      Little kids selling lemonade? Illegal.

I must presume you did not read the article otherwise I am forced to believe you have no reading comprehension ability.

That lemonade stand would not have been shut down if they were selling oranges or water.

I bet if this happened in Cali and not Texas you would be bitching about how the liberals are ruining everything.
