    Swiss police arrests Fifa officials in Zurich - BBC News

    The charges are said to include money laundering, racketeering and wire fraud over the last 20 years
    I don't think the Americans here will grasp how huge this will be in Europe.....

                                                                                                                                      Deflategate doesn't even come remotely close to what's been happening forwever in FIFA. And people may dislike American Sports, but compared to FIFA they are squeaky clean. Sports in the US are closely scrutinized and I don't think outright corruption would ever be tolerated since there is way too much legitimate money to be lost for a lot of parties involved. The entire world has known FIFA is corrupt for the past 2 decades, at least.

Well ok maybe it could have been, perhaps two weeks ago would be better as then maybe Luis Figo wouldn't have dropped out of the election. IMO he is the man FIFA needs to be in charge. He was one of the best players of his generation, he played for two of the biggest clubs ever and he seems like a pretty good guy who would do the right thing for the game.

                                                                                                                                              I really hope the election is cancelled and someone convinces Figo to put his name back on the ballot. I think common sense will prevail and he will realize this is the change he needed to happen, I hope so anyway.
