I cannot stand him. I will never forgive him for almost completely ruining the cowbell skit with his attempt to steal the spotlight with the obviously fake "this skit is so funny I cannot stop from laughing" bit.Comment

I'm no expert since we do not get it here much, but i watched Leno a lot in the early 90s and we get Fallon here now, but, I think Fallon is terribly fake. He loves everybody, likes everything. He loves his superlatives. I like sarcasm more;-).

Leno was king of sarcasm, i loved that about his Tonight Show. Fallon seems to be the exact opposite of that. it's a nice sort of comedy to end the day with.
the weakest link of the show are the actual interviews. Robert Downey Jr the other night almost made me cancel plans to see Age of Ultron. Almost. And i like his acting and characters and such. although some interviewees are good, the girl from 2 Broke Girls was pretty funny.Comment

i hope you are being sarcastic. Lame family friendly, very simplistic childish humor. Horribly boring, boring show. Audience screaming like they are in a fire for every random thing some 'celeb' does, or even only when Fallon mentions a name of one... Is it normal for an audience to act like that? I tried to watch it a couple times for lack of something else on. They scream hysterically all the time for anything. Do they get fed some kind of drug before they go and sit there?
In short, painful to watch, makes me cringe and/or yawn.Comment

nope, not being sarcastic at all. you're right, his humor is family friendly and the show is very scripted. nevertheless, i find it it has a high giggle factor.
I still like Kimmel, he puts on a killer show and i think his humor is more adult, but we tend to default to Fallon around here.Comment

I like his skits and the games he plays with the guests. My only potential issues is some of his interviews. He seems desperate to make every interview funny so he is always interjecting himself into the guests answers and interrupting them. He seems to have gotten better about it recently, but there are some guests you can tell it kind of annoys them. They are trying to answer him or tell a story and he keeps jumping into make a joke.Comment

There will never be another Carson.
But Fallon is very, very talented. And I like the "feel" of the show. They definitely turned it into something different.
Jay and Connan both tried to be "Carson Light" and pretty much kept the same look and feel of the Carson show to a degree. But of course...neither had the ability to pull it off like the king himself did.
Fallon smartly re-made the show in his own image.
Just like Carson did when he took it over from Jack Paar.
And Jack Paar completely changed it before that when he took it over from Steve Allen.-Robbie
