Like Joshua G said. They need to go back to just making good food, at a cheap price, and fast. Not crazy big menus. Nothing fancy or expensive. Even their average burgers got pricey. They need to rework that to what made them huge. Value and speed. Leave the gourmet and healthy options to other companies. Or start up another subsidiary for that option.

Big changes coming to Mickey D's.
Interesting their change in corporate / market structure from regions to market shares. Maybe that is a model for porn?

Actually, this thread inspired me to go to McDonald's for breakfast this morning. Two McGriddles, pancakes with sausage, 2 hash browns and some of their "coffee" (iced for max effect).
Results?
I feel like puking right NOW and am terrified of what will eventually ooze out my asshole after winding its way through my poor intestines and colon.
JESUS why did I do such a thing??? McGriddles were tasty (I'm a sucker for anything maple-flavored). Pancakes were....maple-y (good) but......meh. Hash browns were good tho greasy and the "coffee"? Well, it wasn't Starbucks (or even Dunkin' Donuts) but drinkable.
OK well my digestive system says THANKS GFY. I am guessing McDonald's will be out of business before I try that again. LOLMy Affiliate Programs:

In 1974 the cost of a single burger was 30 cents, that's 1.44 in today's money but you can still buy a burger for a dollar. They've just gotten away from being a place where Mom can take a night off from the kitchen. They should return to Burgers, Fries and Drinks.
Pizza places are in danger of trying to offer too much as well IMHO. Domino's dropped "pizza" from their name for the love of god.43-922-863 Shut up and play your guitar.

For some reason, I always imagine that In N Out Burger is what McDonalds would have been like back in the 50's and 60's before they brought out the food scientists. We need more In N Out burgers.Like Joshua G said. They need to go back to just making good food, at a cheap price, and fast. Not crazy big menus. Nothing fancy or expensive. Just read that article Kawaii posted. New 'Homey' Menu Items include $4.99 burgers. In most places a pound of beef is less than $4 for consumers. Mcdonalds pays 30 cents for a pound of beef A POUND. I goto McDonalds maybe once or twice a year, the last time I was there the meat patty was so thin. The burger was all bun and I was like WTF. Then you goto local places, or places like Chipotle or Garbonzos and it's all totally healthy great food fresh chicken etc a half the price of McDonalds. It's all about the money @ McD's now they've fucked the consumer for too long I hope they rot in hell.Comment

For $4 I can make 4 burgers/next to no fat/from Oz or Canada or JP/ grilled toppings etc...at home. IN a very short time.
I think one of their main strategies may prove to be home delivery though. Pink slime delivered to your door. Beats gettin outta the bark-o-lounger, I guess.
They are closing 100 stores in Japan. Not surprised the country is not on their list of developing markets.
Shake Shack is coming though. They should rock this place if they deliver their burgers NYC style.Comment

The trick to having MacDonalds into your diet is moderation. I've been working on a six pack, but I still have my weekly McDonalds.Actually, this thread inspired me to go to McDonald's for breakfast this morning. Like I said, in 1974 a plain burger cost 30 cents, that's $1.44 in today's money, but you can buy a plain burger from their value menu today for only $1. So if you're saying that they have gotten away from low prices, welp... no. You can eat there for less money today than you could in 1974. Might be hard to swallow, but math is heartless.43-922-863 Shut up and play your guitar.

McDonalds will still be around. While sales and profits are down, they aren't in danger of going away overnight. Even their lower profits are still better than most company's best profits.
They just need a new CEO with some fresh ideas that can scale down their menu and something that needs to be wo0rked on and has been touched on in this thread already: they need to fix their customer service. The occasional wrong order will happen, but grumpy employees, slooooooooooooow service and driving to 3 different windows is stupid. If I have to order at one window, pay at an other and pick up my food at a third, it makes it slower, not faster.Comment
