I notice a ton of stories about kids making money on youtube. Just my theory, But I think kids are the biggest youtube fans and they like to see other kids opening toys and putting on dramas.

I am kind of bothered that I have put up a sexy youtube video of sexy girls, that I have marked as adult, and I see kids making comments. I think it is them trying to get views on their own videos. Youtube/Google have turned everyone into spammers.

Food/Recipe/Cooking has high cpc rate, and they have alot of suscribers, I bet those motivation videos which get 10,000,000 dont even make half of those income. It depends on the markets.

They've only got 330000 subscribers. Most videos aren't cracking 200,000 views. $127000 a month seems like a very high estimate. I know there's guys with over 2 million subscribers that arent making that much.

I see they did have some videos that had a couple million views so who knows.

It seems they have a great following but I have a hard time believing they take in $100k per month.

Media stories likely don't care to check the real figures because saying that a nine year old girl making $100k attracts attention and so they'll get people reading the articles and hopefully making it go viral.

The link that candidpro posted above has more realistic expectations of YT income in my opinion.

Don't minimize. Of course earning money on YT is nothing new. I for one had no idea a couple of kids were making that kind of bank doing their own cooking vids. I knew sizeable amounts were being made, but $127k a month is nothing to sneeze at.

My wife and I have often said it's a shame we didn't have the foresight back in the day to video record every aspect of our business - the prop building, the studio facilities, all the rigging we had to do...including much of the marketing/promo aspects. Probably would have made an excellent Youtube tutorial for up-and-cummers...especially people interested on how to get it off the ground on a shoestring budget.

Others could have learned from our mistakes - while at the same time getting some insight and innovative ideas, too.
