why is my comment inane? because it's obviously true?
country envy? wtf.. yeah I'm envious of the Patriot Act, yeah I'm envious of a bunch of bible bashing warmongers.. I would be guessing but I'd say the USA is one of the less 'free' countries in the western hemisphere. Lots to be envious of |
Actually it's a good thing if China and other countries to have a good economy for the US as well.
I would also like to add that one of the reasons China's economy is doing so well is it's trade with the US. I started this thread because I was not surprised to see that many people would like to see the US out of the UN. What they don't see how much we contribute to the world through the UN as far as world aid and many other things. There is so much shit going on in the world and the US can not make it all perfect. In fact look at Argentina it's been taken over by a self proclaimed dictator and we have not invaded it. They have huge oil supplies but they are not a terrorist threat to the US so basically we stay out and hope their people can get democracy back in their country. |

In which way? btw, the US has only been around at all since 1776. We must be owning the rest of the world up. |

Bible bashing?? Right there youi lost me. What exactly does that mean? Removing Saddam and attempting to nullify Iraq's threat in the middle east smacks of preserving and ensuring future peace, not war-mongering. Again you're out to lunch. "Less free"?? You live in sheepville, what would you know about living in the USA? Buddy....boobie....... if it wasn't for the USA you 'Zealanders would very likely be speaking Japanese right now. The only one that seems to be "Bashing" here is you goof. |

Obviously since 1776 the US has outperformed, but China's economy is ramping.. but you missed the point.. Livedose: which part is ignorant? |

When's India due to own us up? They have over 1 billion people, too. |
What I meant by bible bashing. Is that the core of the administration are quite zealously Christain and see everything in terms of good/evil, black and white things aren't that simple.
Iraq there's no good reason the USA can't wait three months for their war to try and placate the rest of the world. If they did at least that it might appear that they gave a shit. A good reason is not we've already waited 12 years. The real reason is we already have our military there lets get it over with coz this shit is expensive, at least be honest. CDSmith, I'm impressed by your intellectual skills also. |
Can we really leave the UN? Can we please?
I'm sure we could use that nice building they have in New York. Let's do something really bad to make the UN kick us out. That would be so great. European Union is next! It's all coming down baby! Globalization? Suck my cock. Globalization won't work any better than Communism. Why try it? |

Christ, people have been saying "give them more time, give them more chances" for years now. YEARS. When is enough really enough? It's always easy to criticize the US and the American president while sitting up in the cheap seats. Armchair critics like you don't have all the facts, you don't have all the intel reports that the president has, you don't have hundreds of deep-cover operatives feeding you the facts, yet you people purport yourselves as being wiser and more intelligent than the president? Yeah, right. Why exactly should anyone listen to you? |

Just before leaving for Helsinki, Finland, early in September 1990 to discuss the Persian Gulf crisis at his summit meeting with Soviet President Gorbachev, President George Bush expressed the hope that "the foundation for the new world order would be laid in Helsinki" and that it would be established under the United Nations. At the news conference with Gorbachev following their historic meeting, President Bush declared optimistically: "If the nations of the world, acting together, continue as they have been we will set in place the cornerstone of an international order more peaceful than any that we have known." Bush Sr. Said that (in bold). |

"Oh please - "W" has a Harvard MBA. It's one of the hardest degrees to attain. There are no "free rides" at Harvard wether your dad's a big shot or not. In fact, from what I hear, they are even harder on you if you come from a famo9us background. -"W" flew jet fighters in the Army Reserves. Do you know how much knowledge and training is required to simply fly a jet? Now couple that with combat flying tactics. And keep in mind that every last bit of that knowledge has to be ready for you because in air combat almost every decision every second is life or death. I read GFY and I chuckle at some of the morons on there who make fun of my nations president for being "stupid" when most of them have probably flunked out of high school and can probably not even drive a manual transmission car." Enough Bush-bashing. You aren't qualified to shine the man's belt buckle for fuck sakes. |

Second, the UN will be even MORE irrelevant than it already is without the United States' military power. Imagine having laws in your country without a police force. |

Fact is, the man is president, you and the other Bush-bashers are not. And things in Iraq are going to happen the way they're going to happen REGARDLESS of all the ubersquawking you people do day in and day out. guess it would be too much to ask for guys like Joesuxpack (for example) to just give their keyboards and their mouths a rest? Ya, I thought so. |
Even if there is a UN resolution, who do you think will be the one to burden 99.9999999% of the costs/man power/supplies/etc. ?
There is a reason you don't want to take orders from a 6 year old child. Or, in the case of the UN, an entire classroom of children telling the teacher what to do. |
