Can we really leave the UN? Can we please?

I'm sure we could use that nice building they have in New York. Let's do something really bad to make the UN kick us out. That would be so great.

European Union is next! It's all coming down baby!

Globalization? Suck my cock. Globalization won't work any better than Communism. Why try it?

Sure. Then we can wait another 3 months. And another. And another.

Wasn't this shit supposed to go down last month anyway? Enough already. Let's get it over with. Time to move on with our lives.

A good reason is not we've already waited 12 years. The real reason is we already have our military there lets get it over with coz this shit is expensive, at least be honest.
This is pure BS. Maybe you missed the past few days where the President has been meeting with "the rest of the world" in the Azores to again talk about their views and concerns and talk over what is to be done here.

Christ, people have been saying "give them more time, give them more chances" for years now. YEARS. When is enough really enough?

It's always easy to criticize the US and the American president while sitting up in the cheap seats. Armchair critics like you don't have all the facts, you don't have all the intel reports that the president has, you don't have hundreds of deep-cover operatives feeding you the facts, yet you people purport yourselves as being wiser and more intelligent than the president? Yeah, right. Why exactly should anyone listen to you?

Just before leaving for Helsinki, Finland, early in September 1990 to discuss the Persian Gulf crisis at his summit meeting with Soviet President Gorbachev, President George Bush expressed the hope that "the foundation for the new world order would be laid in Helsinki" and that it would be established under the United Nations. At the news conference with Gorbachev following their historic meeting, President Bush declared optimistically: "If the nations of the world, acting together, continue as they have been we will set in place the cornerstone of an international order more peaceful than any that we have known."

Bush Sr. Said that (in bold).

heh even Bush Snr has sounded caution about the unilateral approach of Jnr. Come on don't tell me you think Bush Jnr is the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Okay, time to quote my buddy Mojo from another board.....

"Oh please

- "W" has a Harvard MBA. It's one of the hardest degrees to attain. There are no "free rides" at Harvard wether your dad's a big shot or not. In fact, from what I hear, they are even harder on you if you come from a famo9us background.

-"W" flew jet fighters in the Army Reserves. Do you know how much knowledge and training is required to simply fly a jet? Now couple that with combat flying tactics. And keep in mind that every last bit of that knowledge has to be ready for you because in air combat almost every decision every second is life or death.

I read GFY and I chuckle at some of the morons on there who make fun of my nations president for being "stupid" when most of them have probably flunked out of high school and can probably not even drive a manual transmission car."

Enough Bush-bashing. You aren't qualified to shine the man's belt buckle for fuck sakes.

I think if the UN wants they should kick us (USA) out. This way we stop giving so much money abroad and using in our own country.
The part I like best in this article " The world can do without such bullies and war mongers and ( INTERNATIONAL DICTATORS ). I thought that's who we were trying to get ride of Dictators.

Quote:

" It is time to kick the USA out of the UN Security Council for starters, or out of the United Nations if need be. The world can do without such bullies and war mongers and international dictators. No more ultimatums to the UN. If you don't like the United Nations, then get out of it; Tomorrow is a good day to announce this. And if the USA does not announce this itself, then the countries of the world should seize the moment and understand what is going on and act. "

The United States created the UN for one thing: http://www.un.org/aboutun/history.htm

Second, the UN will be even MORE irrelevant than it already is without the United States' military power. Imagine having laws in your country without a police force.

Actually i'm 4 months from being a medical doctor.

Again you're deluded if you think "W" got into Harvard on his credentials..

What does that have to do with anything? I've worked closely with dozens of doctors, and I can assure you that being a doctor may qualify someone as medically intelligent, but it has no bearing on their political intellect. In fact, there are as many otherwise dumbass doctors as in any other profession. Next point...

Critics are a dime a dozen. Big deal. That article conveniently holds no commentary on Bush's aviation experience as quoted above.

Fact is, the man is president, you and the other Bush-bashers are not. And things in Iraq are going to happen the way they're going to happen REGARDLESS of all the ubersquawking you people do day in and day out.

guess it would be too much to ask for guys like Joesuxpack (for example) to just give their keyboards and their mouths a rest? Ya, I thought so.

MaxDent 03-17-2003 10:23 AM

Even if there is a UN resolution, who do you think will be the one to burden 99.9999999% of the costs/man power/supplies/etc. ?

There is a reason you don't want to take orders from a 6 year old child. Or, in the case of the UN, an entire classroom of children telling the teacher what to do.
