Holy shit...it was just a couple of years back in L.A. that she was giving one of the keynote speeches at the XBiz show! Being touted as an example of a woman having wild success running the company.
How the hell did this happen?
I must say that I did disagree with a lot of what she was doing (especially the settlement with Manwin and the decision to try and become an anti-piracy company without actually having any of the guys who knew how to do it involved). But that was just business disagreements that I had.
I always wished her well and THOUGHT she was irreplaceable at Top Bucks/Pink Visual.

It kind of pisses me off how often companies are forced to put fake female figureheads out front to get press and how many women feel like a fake job is their best option.
No idea if that was the case here. Just something I've seen too much of overall. Something there is enough of that people can wonder like in this thread.Comment

Yes but for this case I didn't mean it because she was female though. It just seems the pattern in the industry overall. You get a nice reasonable person (of which Allison seems to be) to act as a figurehead and act like they are in charge while the worst of the worst sit in the shadows running things.
Anyway the industry probably would have been much better off if there were more women in high places but I guess that's another topic altogether.
