Sad to say but this is something that will be remembered. Its never how well things went that are recalled its how the things that wet wrong are.

i have to disagree. people who got work done at the show(s) and put together deals certainly recall the things that went right. and I'm not sure a drunk doper acting like a child has much to do with those sorts of things.

besides, my point was we (the 99.999999999%) aren't the ones who did this. it was the one guy who's done it before, the OP needed to point his finger at that guy, the guy he considers family.

Oh yes it has. I remember a story of a huge player/sponsor at the very first industry show get totaled and busted his head kicking a showerhead at a webmaster suite.

People get drunk and wasted like Forest stated, since the very first show. I've seen people pass out, seen people throw up, even seen one or two fights. It's tapered off as the industry matured, but it still happens, and I don't see how it surprises anyone at this point.

Shows back in the day had shit like this all the time. One example was Wiseman throwing all of this balcony furniture off a high floor at the Diplomat into the pool. Someone could have been seriously hurt or even killed

I remember stuff like this at the vegas shows in the early 2000's

A couple I recall: A fight at the poker tourney in Universal City & a brutal KO at the Calabasas Country Club during a Webmaster Golf Tourney.

Another example I walked up to Lensman at the 2003 or 04 Vegas show and called him a pussy for banning me from GFY and told him to go fuck himself and his board. He un banned me after the show

Living here in Vegas I see conventions happening every day of every week.

And yes, the adult industry conventions USED to be pretty wild. Not so much anymore.

But the mainstream conventions? They are off the hook wild. You want to see crazed drunks doing stupid shit and tons of cocaine & actual high priced hookers? Go to most any other business convention EXCEPT adult and you'll find it in spades. LOL!

I was talking to some hotel staff one year and they told me that our convention was tame. They thought we would be crazy, but we were almost boring. Car salesmen conventions is where the disturbing shit happens..lol

And you're right about car salesmen. My youngest brother is one. And I can tell you that 90% of them are drug addicts/alcoholics. I know plenty of them.
They party HARD. And that's just in their regular work week.
At a convention? They would be off the chain!
