A dad-of-three who has spent almost his entire life in the UK is facing deportation - despite working and paying taxes here for 40 years.
Robert Carl Jordan was born in the States - the son of an American soldier and a 'GI bride'- but when the marriage broke up, moved back to Manchester with his mum at the age of three.
The 56-year-old, known as Carl to his family and friends, has an American passport but says he didn't realise he needed British citizenship to stay in the country he calls home.
