A straight and direct one. Hot soup once a day is just necessary for our stomachs. As about the second course, so usually it's just tasteless is it's cold. E.g. did you try to eat a cold pasta with a cold rissole or chicken?

What I meant was what's the scientific reason behind it?

Note the prices. You pay 429 rubles (about $7) and get a smorgasbord (eat as much as you can)

average Russian monthly salary is 30,000 RUB or so? divide by 30 days = 1000 daily...
=42.9% of average Russian's income going to lunch? :error

I simplified it a little, but still, it's not as accessible to an average person as you make it sound...

(here comes... "in Moscow" and/or "my friends".... :winkwink:)

Yes, there were many researches here: https://www.google.com/search?q=польза+горячего+питания - use with Google translate. Just a quote from one of those docs:

Quote:

Hot meals in a person's life is essential. Long-term experience of observations of doctors and teachers showed that students who do not consume among school day hot food quickly tire, often complain of headaches, fatigue, pain in the stomach, a bad taste in the mouth, bad mood and decreased performance.

An average whole-Russian white salary. You forgot about the black one :winkwink:

Those are Moscow prices. Prices in Russia are much different. And once again: you can't save money to the detriment of your health.

Those who earn 30,000 RUB a month don't eat in cafes with waiters etc. They eat in their factory cafeteria. According to the movie picture posted by OP, I assume that in this thread we are talking about educated people with normal jobs but not about poor rednecks who live for 30,000 RUB.

P.S. We have a 5-day working week in Russia, so I don't understand where that your 30-day month is came from :) So having a daily business lunch in a restaurant (like one shown above) will cost you only 5736 RUB ($93) a month even in Moscow ;)

Do you know of any international studies that were conducted on grown adults and not adolescents? Genuinely curious about the link between the two.

Those were conducted on both old and young ones here, but I have no idea about the International studies because I was never interested in that theme. I just know it works. Every gastroenterologist here will tell you that most his/her patients with gastritis are victims of dry food. And every doctor here will prescribe you a hot soup once a day if you have any problems with digestion. This is not some abstract science. This is a pure and very HUGE statistics.

As small dictionary to my post above: white salary - the declared one, black salary - the undeclared one.
