No climate change is one of the many reasons I live in Florida.

ORLANDO, Fla. (Reuters) - Climate change activists blasted Florida Governor Rick Scott on Monday for leading an "Orwellian" campaign to ban employees of the state's lead environmental agency from using such terms as ?global warming? and ?climate change.?

Despite coastal Florida's vulnerability to storm surges and rising sea levels, the state?s Department of Environmental Protection was directed in 2011 not to use the phrases in official communications, according to a report by the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting.

Employees were told not to use the phrases ?climate change,? ?global warming,? 'sea level rise,' or ?sustainability,? attorney Christopher Byrd, who worked with the department's Office of General Counsel from 2008 to 2013, confirmed to Reuters.

I'd guess 80% (probably higher) of the voting public, don't care whom they vote for, but only if the letter [R] or [D] is next to the name.

Fuck Rick Scott. He's such a douche bag and it angers me just to look at him. I hate fucking Charlie Crist too, but he would have been a much better decision for the state as a whole. The lesser of two evils so to speak.

You should hear about the company his wife owns... Remember that "drug testing for welfare" hoopla which the Republicans wanted to push so much for? Well they did it in FL, and it cost the state tax payers a shit load of money in the process.. They barely caught anyone on drugs meaning they didn't save any money but actually cost the state money.

Meanwhile guess whom owned the company which was granted the contracts for the drug testing..

Really I've never understood why Scott Walker gets all that national media when we have a much bigger scumbag running FL..

I've always thought Crist was a closet homosexual.. However both him & Jeb Bush at least tried to do a half ass job..

Governor Scott says Florida did not ban the phrase 'climate change'

The Miami Herald published a story Sunday that Gov. Rick Scott had banned the use of phrases like global warming and climate change, based on statements by former employees. The only problem: it's not true. At least according to Gov. Rick Scott.

On Monday, Scott denied that the administration in his Department of Environmental Protection were ever banned from using those terms. "It's not true," Scott told reporters in Hialeah. He said no such policy existed. While not going into specifics, he maintained the allegations were false.

A search of the DEP's website revealed hundreds of instances of the phrases "climate change" and "global warming," and the accusations were made by former employees of DEP that were fired or laid off. Based on the reporting by the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting, which bills itself as a non-partisan investigative agency, the accusations appeared to be an orchestrated attempt by ex-employees to disgrace a sitting governor.

You have to ask why some want so badly to not believe scientific consensus. Could it be something green?

You better hope they are right. Florida is flat as a pancake and Florida's median elevation is 100 ft (30.48 m) above sea level.

Everytime I see Rick Scott's picture I think..

I think however at least the lead singer of this band was probably smarter at politics..
