How many of your fix and repair your own stuff?

I have tools for everything, even to work on circuit boards. I change my own oil, spark plugs, but I'm letting a friend do my cam job on my Harley. Yesterday I serviced the K&N air filter on my Road King. I'm even making my own handle bars for my Dyna Lowrider. I weld, I turn a wrench, I enjoy doing it. Just wondering who else does?
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
    think about that

I fix only the stuff I have stolen from others. But yes, I repair stuff. At least some stuff.

Thanx, I have a ATV, it's not in the picture, this only shows part of my garage, it's a 4 car garage. I have two more motorcycles in there and a 4x4 pickup and a car

I do nothing. I could but it bores me. Why do the work when you can pay a greasemonkey to do it.

Edit: Actually I have better things to do. I would prefer to pay others to fix my shit and save me time.

I am VERY hands on, with almost everything. It's cheaper, and with the help of the internet it really makes things so much easier than back in the day.

I have good intentions. I have a coffee mug I've intended to fix for three years now, but haven't yet. I've also intended to put new door knobs on my kitchen cupboard. The knobs are still in their bag, in one of the cupboards. I'm a "one day" putterer, but not a today one.

Depends on what needs fixin'. I have enough tools in the garage to open a small hardware store. Inherited a lot of 'em from my dad when he closed his renovation biz.

Finding the time is the toughest thing.

I don't own many tools, I know my limits and it's not much. Basic stuff I don't mind doing but anything I'm not comfortable with I "call the guy"

too many people think they can fix stuff and sometimes they can but many times, do it wrong not to mention, unsafe. living in the burbs i see so many people changing their own oil or doing their own brakes changing their own tires in angled driveways with no safety jacks. even with safety jacks doing work in an angled driveway is not a good idea.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

                                      Depends on what it is.

I have an old truck and when I first bought it I did what I could to make it better, installing a new grill and bumper, fixing a few things that were broken. I used to do the work on my Mustangs too, complete tune ups, changed spark plugs, etc. But I would hardly call myself an auto mechanic. I no longer do my own oil changes, so oil filters and air filters get done down at Jiffy Lube.

I most of the stuff around the house, lots of yard work (no landscaper for me!) and of course anything computer related. These days I do a lot of stuff with bikes - I'm into cycling. Right now I have a Specialized that is a few years old and needs some upgrading so I plan on taking it off the road for a bit and redoing everything with newer components.

I stopped working on my own cars when I couldn't find the spark plugs anymore.

In the Navy I was an electrician and mechanic, but I try to do as little of that as possible now. I've worked on diesel engines, air brakes and hydraulic systems on garbage trucks. I'm glad I don't get home with grease stains so deep in my fingernails that it stays there for weeks. Happy to sit in front of a computer.

I worked the trades for a lot of years, painting, built fences, decking, even a little roofing way back when. Industrial electronics was my one credit but after college I really did nothing with it. These days as a revenue property owner I have to do the odd thing here or there, but because of my deteriorating back my days of spending hours hunched over a work bench or crawling under a vehicle are long behind me.

I might have, but it felt good to clean up my garage a little and I made some new handle bars for my Dyna. I like to know the talents of my friends and fellow GFY'ers. I didn't know Bronco had talent! I have worked on just about everything. I have a inch lb torque wrench for working on automatic transmissions. I have micrometers and 3 chop saws. I have 2 sets of Oxy Acetylene and a mig welder. I love to work on things.

I got a lot of these tools from my Stepfather when he passed 10 years ago. I have decided I need to work on building things more. I want to make a 4 poster bed out of steel! That's next!

With how work is going these days I just don't have the time anymore. My personal zen is fishing, when I do get free time I would rather be on the lake than tackling a project. My son until recently had a GMC jimmy, we would work on that together. Now that he got a civic there are no more car problems.

I did re-roof my house this last fall and when it was done I realized I am not as young as I used to be.... Sore for a full week, roofing is a young mans game.. My wife wants a new kitchen in 2015 so we will see what happens there.

He charged me $7.

I wish I have room for a full motorcycle lift, but right now because my daughter is staying with us till she gets her feet on the ground. Maybe when she gets her own place I can find the room, they have one at Harbor Freight for under $500

So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
