    Anyone ever wanted your site out of business? What to do?

    Lets start from scratch: I run I want porn! - a website I coded entirely line by line myself (except the Joomla-backend)- since May 2014.



    And there is "theporndude", who claims that I've cloned/copied his site. There are a lot of porn directories out there and the I've seen this column-design first at TBLOP and definitely not TPD.
    So for me this is ridiculous, but he already convinced himself and I guess there is nothing I can do to change his mind on that.

    Actually I'd give a fuck on his opinion, if he would not contact other webmasters to cancel established link/traffic-trades to my site.
    We increase traffic all the time, but he has a lot more - And so he holds the whip hand when he forces them with something like "Remove the link to Iwantporn or I remove mine to your site"

    There are more porn directories/linksites like that (where I think mine is the greatest of course ;), but it seems he is only concerned about mine. So I guess I do something right. ;)

    I also have a lot of conversations with various webmasters, where some set my link back when they heard the story from my POV, but I guess I would have AT LEAST twice the traffic without his efforts.

    Anyone had something similar? How do you get rid of such a disease?

                                  I made similar sites back in 2001 (non adult but with adult links), TPD didn't invent this design or concept.

                                                              I daily check backlinks to see if I have to contact someone to redo his actions. And just a few stand up for me. Unfortunately most of them just don't want any troubles.

                                                                      I understand why he asks webmasters to remove links to your site. You are his competition. It's kind of like how porn forums do not want you mentioning other porn forums.

                                                                      If he is saying you copied him then he is full of shit and is a dumbass. But the link removal makes sense.

He knows you are solid competition and so is trying to beat you with the shelf space game before you get big enough to fight back.

                                                                                  Real way to beat him, IMVHO, is establish personal relationships with as many sites as you can, don't whine, but admit the challenge, as you have done here. In the long run people get tired of that shit and want a good player.

                                                                                      Nevertheless this is very time-consuming and when I think of the HQ sites where my link was placed once (and his still is), it is quite hard to compete.

                                                                                                                                                          As "newb" already said, TPD has a LOT of piracy sites -actually categories only listing such sites- and also deals traffic with them. So you basically send him visitors and in return you get "pirates" directly to your sites. People who don't pay for shit. ;]

                                                                                                                                                          I do know that for some people traffic is just traffic. But is it really profitable?

                                                                                                                                                                              She key worded up her new website with my website name in the form of "I don't work at suchandsuch.com anymore" so anytime someone looked for my site, hers would pop up.

                                                                                                                                                                              I waited for her to go away, I had my attorney send her a cease and desist. She ignored that demand and so, sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire. I have 35+ people working for me against just her. So, pretty quickly we solved that issue when I decided to play that way, though I definitely did not want to play. Sometimes you just have to lay the smack down and say......No bitch, NOT TODAY.

                                                                                                                                                                              She's irrelevant now and this guy will be eventually. Cheating in business is never the way to "stay" ahead in my experience, but once in a while you do have to roll up your sleeves and get nasty.

All of them. The ones wasting time trying to get rid of you are literally your smallest concern.

                                                                                                                                                                                  Just focus on being the best option available to your customers and business partners and you can safely ignore the "competition".

                                                                                                                                                                                  If people don't want to do business with you for whatever the reason may be, then let it be their loss. If losing your business is truly a loss for them they will see it and others will too. And if it isn't you didn't deserve them in the first place.

                                                                                                                                                                                  Focus on what's really important and ignore the idiots. There are a lot of them so there's a lot of ignoring to do, best get started now.

And I won't send an competitive amount if I lose backlinks every few days. Kind of a Sisyphus-thing.

Competitors are gaining strength by swallowing other competitors, eventually they are setting the standards. That guy obviously is on a mission. Like world domination.
                                                                                                                                                                                              When business rivals discuss they do it because all parts are benefitting from it. They find a solution fitting for everybody in their exclusive club. We call this cartel, or antitrust. See the news for popular examples. But TPD is not interested in discussing with you, because he wants to get rid of you.
                                                                                                                                                                                              You can take this to the public (like here), but apart from a few nice words you won't get much help. Most folks will just look for the popcorn.
                                                                                                                                                                                              In your position, I'd try to expand my activities to something TPD can't easily copy. You know some of the guys in your list personally? Write a review about their stuff, let them write guest posts on your site or something like that. Or, if you're a programmer, why not do a simple popularity contest with a bit of celebration for the winner? Focusing on your own mission, not his one, is the key.
                                                                                                                                                                                              You still would have a porn site directory, but with a personal touch. Will grow your traffic. Makes you laugh about TPD.
