To me it's just the first step toward....banishment! Kind of like craigslist made erotic services pay only which was FABULOUS, but then they pulled the plug all together. Not necessarily by choice but still happened.

There's TONSSSSSSSSS of nude photos on there. There's no way they can possibly police content licenses - so then what happens? They ban it all together maybe.Comment

more traffic to those with reg sites and maybe tumblr blogs.. easy fix. Stop relying on reddit for a living, get a paid host and make some real blogs. problem solved. I don't rely on reddit for a living. I just started getting a lot of traffic from them over the past 3 months. I have blogger, I have tumbler and I have my own hosted blog.
My solution to blogger is to just give my contractors subdomains so they can still feel unique and that they get to do their own thing which is really why they use blogger. I'm not really stressed about that one.
Reddit on the other hand, you get one good blog up there and you have 7k visits in 2 days to just that one blog, when you get 15 good blogs up....yep beautiful. It's good traffic for me and the advertising is super cheap.Comment

I can see why your salty about it lol. 100k extra hits everyday 2 days is nothing small.. i was just referring to people who rely on it solely. Like when Twan rolled out couple years ago. I took a hit on about 100 blogs and a few hundred a month in sales.. Couple friends of mine lost 95% of their income because they used his free hosting for all it was worth. Why in the hell the never used some of that monthly low end X,XXX profits to get in the game I'll never know, but they learned a damn good lesson, my 100 or so blogs pinched me some when they vanished, but was glad I didn't end up like them.

Well damn I'm not saying I got 15 good ones up in 1 day for 100k traffic, but I'm saying if you are consistent and you have great content, it does end up to be quite a bit of free, targeted traffic and that's always good. I did have 100 % increase 2 weeks ago over the previous week just with that one article. The thing is, it BLOWS up, then evens out, submit another blog BLOWS up, then evens out. Now we are marked as a spam ring! That's probably more to worry about.
The advertising part...very cheap, seems to do okay.Comment

Reddit traffic is pretty bad on the porn sub-reddits. Only good for pop-ups. You are considered an idiot if you pay for porn.
People will pay out the cash if they feel sorry for somebody though. Like somebody having to walk to work, or somebody steals a professor's unicycle or you have a goofy looking animal. That grumpy cat is making bank on appearances and stuff.Comment
